As I'm far, far too excited about this so I thought I'd get the topic started already.  Looks an interesting parcours this year, should be contested right up until the last day again.

Route below:

ToC is far too busy keeping the 'stars' like Leipheimer happy to jeapordise their victory - and they want to say they have the best field outside the TdF so they want Boonen et al there who wouldn't turn up if there was a MTF right before the cobbled Classics

Is it that strong, 1300m of climbing in 40km? More Ventoux than Zoncabonk but yes - we all love an MTF. Smile

looks like 1000m climbing over 20K.
If that is correct then that is 5%.
Not as steep as Palomar : "11.7 miles, a seven percent average grade,"  but slightly longer.

That graphic is a bad as the ToC ones.

What I really like are the graphics that show the entire race profile on a single scale.

Is it just me or is no one sending their A-team other than Garmin?  Ok  Astana have bertie and CSC have Shrek the younger, but not a lot of depth really?

Still - very much looking forward to it - especially if Garmin and CSC are there to win!

I too, am a bit disappointed.
No Rebellin, for obvious reasons, but no Gesink is a bummer.
Think he is also going to race "sparingly", with an eye on his TDF debut.
At least Samu is back.

Meanwhile, all the sprinters gather in Italy....

Interesting to see Schleck go up against Dertie since I am not sure they have raced very much against each other over the last few years.

Horner taking the super-bitch role this year.

Cadel Evans getting ready to be made to look stupid again.

The interesting rider might be Roman K. He is clearly going to be on dom duties for Nibs and Basso in other races and I suspect this might be his big target for the season.
