I was actually observing that it was a bit sad that when no-one had commented positively on Jones' tenure that the first comment thereon was a negative one.

Obviously, folk are free to not praise England's achievements if they're chippy foreigners!!

I file all such comments under "Pro sport is a tough world. It's not like school sports day" and generally ignore them. The only thing that really counts is the scoreboard at the end of the game.

It does seem a bit one-sided to re-open a near dead thread just to slag Jones off, but it's a free world and you can be as anti-English as you want. Wink

I'm from Derby but I'm extremely anti-Derby in sporting matters. Based on your postings on this thread even before it died, I wouldn't have identified you as an England fan.

I'm not a fan of English Rugby, nor am I fan of sour, arrogant Antipodeans.  However, I am definitely not anti-English, so I'll pass on the invite thanks.

SR

Words like hole, stop and digging come to mind.

As does the question as to how one can be a "foreigner" (chippy or otherwise) on a forum?

It's quite a jump to go from not being an England fan to being "anti-English" ...

Well It wasn't a bad run, but I'm sure they'll keep things down in Dublin so as not to wake the thread Wink
