Oops, didn't see Chaves shoot up the road to gain 30 seconds as well.

So Chaves 3rd and Yates 4th.

Plenty to keep up with today.  Who rode the ride of the day?  Gesink.  Yates.  Quintana.  Froome.  Someone we didn't notice who leapt into the top ten?  Hard to keep keep track.  Enough racing to keep me happy for sure.

A little suspicion creeping in that Quintana is not going to get the best of Froome in the race after all.  Would not have said that three days ago.

And Konig went up the road as well.

Must have been around the time that the "messing about" was taking place  Wink

Fantastic win for the Condor...

Piti proves he is human after all

Quintana & Froome trade blows, but without doing much damage, except maybe SKY will be tired out from chasing most of the stage.

Good re-confirmation from Konig that he has got it... i'm happy he will go back to Bora next year - he can be team lead without needing many mountain helpers, suiting Sagan.

The battle in the French mountains that everybody had hoped for in the Tour,
but with so much more going on.

Valverde is sick apparently.

I would agree that between the two it would be hard to pick, or to find a third.  Must think. I guess the stage yesterday was  little thicker, a bit more complex, whereas the Giro stage was more dramatic, it decided something that was pretty much unexpected.  There sure was a lot of mystery about the Vuelta stage, plenty of little races, bit of tragedy, bit of glory for an old racer, proper GT duking it out on the last climb, bit of strategy flying about, what's not to like.

Could there be more to come?  Even after the ITT there might be a little bit of uncertainty, he says, hoping.  A GT decided on the last climb of the last day, always good for the fans.
