So is that actually Slow Rower on the left - I don't recognise you without the helmet and shades.

I thought it was Wallace on the left?

Isn't that Gromit on the left? Wallace is on the right.  Wink

Bartali, my pal is doing the Tourmalet in the next couple of weeks.  Any tips re the weather?  He will be based near Bayonne for a few weeks so he can afford to wait a bit for a decent forecast but I guess the weather at the top can be very different right?

The mountains are always unpredictable, but if he has a go on what's forecast to be a proper clear day he should be okay.  I've ridden it several times and only once (etape day) was it horrible.  I should have known better, but didn't want to carry unnecessary stuff in my pockets so I believed that cloudy meant cloudy not rain.  Check the local weather a Barege or la Mongie the evening before ...

Bart, you look younger than Pozzovivo. What's the secret? Beetroot juice?

Mr SR has (quite rightly) cut me out of this photo. It is my hand you can see on his right. I was grinning like a complete loon - although it might just have been me squinting into the sun.  Cool

If I'm honest, looking at that photo in the coldlight of day, it's not hard to feel a lot of sympathy for both Mrs SR and Mrs Tim, even when Tim and me are not talking b*llocks. Smile

Anyway, it was discussed at length some time ago that being the brains of the outfit, Mrs SR was Gromit, whilst I was Wallace.

Tim is the Penguin/Feathers McGraw whilst Nick, being bigger than Tim and me combined and jet-propelled downhill, is Preston the Cyberdescender.

Bio - I'm frankly appalled that you didn't spot the Wilier logo on the saddle I'm holding. It's lucky you're leaving Italy soon is all I can say.  Wink

My tip would be to get the forecasts from Meteo France or the Weather Channel if possible. The local ones eg those pinned on Tourist office doors, tend to be a rather optimistic during unsettled conditions.

By the look on the face of the Bounty Hunter I would be more concerned about the Wilier you were holding to your right...

I thought it was just a directional arrow like you get on tyre sidewalls.

Thanks to Gerry, I will now always think of you as the Charles Grodin character in Midnight Run - your pursuers giving chase in the Marmotte Laughing
