Yup. But still not booked anything. Trying to sort out a nanny and time off work.

If nothing else my crappy effort shows just how fit the likes of Bart and SR are after their Marmotte efforts in comparison to this fat boy but it's given me a real hunger to get back to some fitness level and do some more.

Good for you, mate! Keep going.

In deep discussion with Mrs G about plans. Looks like we will head out in October for the Mémorial Fabio Casartelli.

Lovely Guiness!  I've never come across those guys so I'll be interested to hear how it goes.  If I read it right you will be based in Bareges - half way up the Tormalet on the pretty side.  Great riding on your doorstep ... Tourmalet, Luz Ardiden (my fave), Hautacam, Souler, Aubisque etc etc all within a stones throw.

Just remember to leave a bit in the tank for the ride back home every night! Wink

Were you a champion javelin thrower in a previous life? It's a long throw to the Aubisque!

Agree about Luz A - fantastic climb.

True ... but I meant it was just a warm-up ride away if one counts the Soulor and Aubisque as one combined col.
