actually, they're not the globe's own photographers. ahh, bio said that already. any wire-enabled news organisation gets these pictures. and could do the same thing if they wanted or felt it would help the public good.
cape first posted during the tour last year from the big picture. the photos were great. it was new-ish at the time. been top of my bookmarks ever since. all of the entries are well worth a peruse. read this too. do it when you've got nothing much else to do if you haven't before. be careful of stumbling into scary arguments in the comments.

Thanks for all that Maffy - hadn't been on my radar, but it's cracking stuff. Some light relief from ray tracing galactic scale paraboloids Bookmarked now.
