Well it's made the headlines so it's been a good plug. You're the one always telling us about the many factors that make up a successful sportsman Book doing well is probably just another facet of competitive personality.
On the other hand, maybe he feels guilty and wants to get it off his chest.

Only when people say the opposite is true!
I guess that even if he doesn't need the money, he'll still want to sell more copies of the book than Sampras did of his! _________________ EPO is for wimps. Proper cyclists go faster on beer, curry and porridge. |

He's lying about lying, a little lie to hide the big lie.
If a tennis player of this era wanted to see the ball big and early, what artificial aids might they believe would give them an advantage?
Methamphet.
Ephedrine.
Pseudoephedrine.
Junky. |

Why fess up now? Methinks it's a wake up call to the ATP. Some players dope and are getting away with it.... _________________ Nothing compares to you... |

I'm more shocked that Agassi wore a wig than his drug taking. What a fake! _________________ "I trust no-body, not even myself" |

I'm laughing at Nadal and complaining about senselessly damaging the sport - he wouldn't want there to be a strong case for the random drug testing he's been campaigning against all year now would he.
That's topped by Becker though:
"I'm struggling to get my head around why Andre would want to confess to something so damaging as taking drugs and then getting away with it. Why would he want to be so brutally honest?"
Yeah, be much better to carry on covering up
This is on the same topic. Interesting about the ATP set up. They had their version of Omerta well worked out
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/jonath...assi_confession_lengthens_sh.html
The comments are most interesting though as a cross section of where tennis fans are at. Big heaps of denial and some of them are priceless:
"it's unlikely that there is any form of undetectable doping that aids with developing stamina. Only constant advanced training will do that" |
