I think that is the final nail in the coffin - Steve must have thrown in the towel finally. I will not be surprised if the site never comes back again.

I sent an e-mail to Limerickman but haven't got a response as yet. It would be sad. I have been a poster there for over 6 years.

btw: Since I can't post on CF now, I picked Cancellara to win the prologue and Contador to take it all.  Tobias Steinhauser agrees with me on this theory.  Ironically he tells me he will be too busy to watch much of the tour. I guess it is like working in a candy store in that you lose your taste for sweets although I wouldn't mind testing that theory as houseboy at the playboy mansion.

How like him to do it now.

Unless he is really delivering on his upgrades...I promise I'll upgrade this time, baby.  I really mean it this time.   Rolling Eyes

End of an era...lol about the mansion...they do say the cobbler always has holes in his shoes though.

Contador's a good pick.   I know everybody disses them, but I always look forward to hearing Phil and Paul and Bob Roll.  It's just part of summer.

Nice.

It's accepted wisdom in Australia that there are Americans who think that we ride kangaroos to work each day.

In some ways I think it's more sensible to think that such an absurd creature does not exist.  British scientists long suspected that the platypus was a fraud concocted by clever taxidermists; it was such a bizarre specimen.  A kangaroo is not that far behind.

By the way, if you ever want to see a wild kangaroo in Australia (ie not in a zoo), the surest way is go to a golf course in the country somewhere.  All that grass; they love the places.  Sometimes you have to hit a lofted shot so as not to hit the damn things.

I've never wrestled one, but I have been charged repeatedly by a big male grey that didn't like me for some reason.  It was in a wooded area, so I took the macho option of ducking behind a tree every time he came at me, and then running in the other direction behind another tree.  After a while I got away, much in the manner of Brave Sir Robin.

Oh, and from the same page as your quote, I see this:

Quote:
Office girl #1: If you're 20, are you still in your teens?
Office girl #2: Yes, I think it goes up to 21.

London
England

I've ridden with 3 kangaroos before. Was living in a small town out in the country and came along 3 roos. They ran along side the road with me for at least 3 mile before they came to a fence and took off. They are quite fast and often had to wait for me. It's a memory i'll cherish for a long long time.

What a waste of a great forum.

There's a bunch of good people from that place that I'd like to hear more from.  Lim in particular has had a thankless task in trying to keep it afloat.  Y'all should have a reunion here, says I.

Guess what!  CF is back with a brand new look, Steve has finally returned and obviously has his work cut out for him in terms of cleaning up the spammers....

OMG...I never thought I'd see the day.  I stand completely corrected!  Definitely looks different.  What a trip.

That was about the only reason left for CF to exist.  Those bastards.  That bites.  It also pretty much cements my move to cyclingnews.  Klodifan showed up there today, and they finally created general forum for non-racing content.

I found a really crappy feature of the new CF.  If you edit a post, it takes out the double space between paragraphs so that the post becomes one giant mass of text.

What the heck does "Rep power" mean on the new CF.  It must be related to post count.  Mine is 10.  Steve's is 10.  Yours is 3.  Smile

Hey Coney! Nice to see you again after a long time. I share Tash's feelings and never thought I would see this happen. Looks like new users can join and Flyer has been quashed finally. Too bad about the FID though. Sad

Hey Bro, I thought you were in for cycling discussion as well as FID. I would suggest that you not give up on CF just yet. After all, why participate on cyclingnews forums where everything is moderated?

It is not really moderated other than the word filter, which is ridiculous.  You cannot use the word headbutt because it has butt in it.  They might change that when their staff gets done with their new site design.  Other than that they have had a pretty hands off approach.

The chief allure is that there are Armstrong fans to spar with.  There is no one left in that regard on CF other than the trolls like No_Positives.

Today one member got banned, the first since the initial IP bans were used to get rid of some trolls.  He posted this to TFF's user page:

"family is out of bounds. I will find out who you are. count on it. starting now you'd better be looking over your shoulder. I told you it was smart to mess with people you don't know. I have the time and resourses for this. If you had any respect for your own family, you'd never dream to **** with mine.
You just brought down the wrath of justice on your stupid a$$."

In another message to TFF he wrote, "and i with my left hand i was pushing your wifes face down my shaft, you spinless fuck."

Over the past few months he PMed me, TFF, and I think others with offers for us to come to Ohio and fight him.  I guess Armstrong fans are going militant...or maybe there is a high correlation between Armschlong (props to HR2 for that nick) fandom and mental instability.

I already have 1500+ posts.  Smile  TFF just passed 1000.  The software is way better than justcycling.   CN's version of vBulletin has features like "friends" enabled and a bunch of other stuff.

EDIT: CF now has word censoring.  It would not surprise me if it is the same as CN's because Steve upgrade to the latest version of the software, which is what I think CN is also using.

I think it was Steve who closed the FID thread. I think he is kind of defensive and doesn't want threads that imply that the forum is dying.

Lim posted a thread that stated he had closed a bunch of old threads but would re-activate them if members requested it. It hasn't been  a real active thread in a while.

I did find something out about Hombre/bobke.  He always gave me the impression that he was a surgeon, maybe a cardiologist.  I used to stick him with things like how scary it was for someone to be diagnosing diseases when he cannot figure out a simple puzzle like whether Armstrong was doping or not.  According to chris-t/Thunder, he is actually a chiropractor.  I laughed my ass off at that.

I believe that Flyer is now blocked from any activity on CF.
...and Bro too bad he is not a proctologist as he could help repair you ass when you laugh it off.
