I neglected it too FF, tho' i did pick Ciolek for the Bayern-Rundfahrt.

I did let myself down by picking Quintana, and moreso Petacchi!!!

Just looked at standings and was amazed that I am on top for the Giro.  Still behind Almaty of course, but at the top.

What's amazing is that I did a rather poor job of choosing riders.  Four of my guys did not score a single point, Guarneri, Atapuma, Kwiatowski and Kruiswijk.  Ferrari only scored 6, so you can see my second line sprinters were a disaster.  No idea why I picked three even, two would have done.  All the other points were scored by my six who did pretty well.  Nibs and Cav and Wiggo must have been choices anyone could have made, and no doubt most of you did.  Betancur, Santambroggio and Scarponi were hardly choices of a genius with great knowledge.  I guess I know I must have got lucky.  I should think that in any game like this if half your team scores almost nothing, you should do badly.  Mind you, in terms of the overall league, I did do badly.

One day I am going to get serious and try really hard to get it right.  Still, I do like the idea of picking a team and then just seeing how they do.

Who is at the top of the standings for the Bayern Rundfurht today

Now I see how I could do wellvin the Italian game, some of you actually had riders who were in other races.  Oh well, a hollow victory as I picked no one for any other race.

My focus was on the Giro, but slightly blinded by who was riding and who was not hehehe!  I picked Ciolek who won a stage and Spilak who won me nowt!

i had geraint thomas in the team thinking either belgium or bayern  would suit him (i think any race without real mountain top finishes suit thomas) and i had jan barta thinking of the importance of bayern to netapp. and that is my 336 points.

but the guess work involved in the bayern, belgium and california races left my riders in the giro low (only nibali and wiggins).

I decided on a rule which is if there are loads of races, only pick riders in the ones worth the highest points and only the ones that interest you a fair bit.  Ignore the rest.  So next time, in a day or two, I will only care about Suisse and Dauphine, and ignore the rest.

Only three to concentrate on this teamswitch:

   2_X Critérium du Dauphiné
   2_X Tour de Suisse
2_HC Skoda - Tour de Luxembourg

Was a good call on Barta Nolte & knowing the importance to NetApp!

As if I can find out who is riding in the Tour of Luxembourg before Saturday night, or whenever the deadline is.
The Cobblestone Fantasy Cycling League
Here's the rather sparse start list, hopefully will be updated some more before Saturday deadline

The Cobblestone Fantasy Cycling League
Rather sparse?  Like calling the Civil War in the USA slightly bloody.  the Startlists site also has a list about as long as that.  I think I am just going to forget about it, and do the other two races.

I never realised how late teams can submit riders for a race, until I started doing this picking the teams lark.  I can see changing one or two riders at the last minute, but for some of these races you have no idea until a few days before the race.
The Cobblestone Fantasy Cycling League
The slightly bloody startlist for the ToL remained the same so didn't bother with that either.

Sagan Peter [Cannondale]
Contador Velasco Alberto [Team Saxo - Tinkoff]
Chavanel Sylvain [OmegaPharma - Quick Step]
Martin Daniel [Garmin - Sharp]
Porte Richie [Sky Procycling]
Meersman Gianni [OmegaPharma - Quick Step]
Kelderman Wilco [Blanco Pro Cycling]
Slagter Tom Jelte [Blanco Pro Cycling]
Klöden Andreas [Radioshack - Leopard]
Vansummeren Johan [Garmin - Sharp]
Thomas Geraint [Sky Procycling]

that team worked out ok today for johnd Smile

do like that br-ff pic. much better than the blackenwhitewifcolourbitz photoshop panache travesties that he seems so fond of.

anybody know why skoda-lux shifted dates? previous years you'd hazard a guess at the suisse startlist from that one.

LOL - that's the precise description - the Bahamontes pic is the best i've seen on there.

Just looked.  OK?  That is like calling the American Civil War ….  Bloody brilliant.  Being on top for one day is the best we can dream of.  Or even one race.  Makes your day in a small small way.

It does FF, very nice suprise and it's 2 wins in a row overall for the JC Team!

I looked at your team selection yesterday and was thinking i should i have got Bouhanni in instead of Martin for slot 4 - ah well.

Or you could have picked Talansky now eight minutes off the pace and ill.  Crying or Very sad

Actually although I don't know anyone else's picks, yours seem quite intelligent and thoughtful.  For example, it is not obvious if Bouhanni will have enough stages to express himself well anyway, he might be just getting fit for the Tour, where he WILL care, and there are stages.  Slagter says he is serious.  Porte and Meersman are quite good picks.  Now we just sit and wait.
