Wow - JC runnin' tings as they say somewhere - FF top of the page today!
The Cobblestone Fantasy Cycling League
Forza FF!
The Cobblestone Fantasy Cycling League
I didn't even look, missed that.  I click immediately on the JC league to see how I am doing.  Never pay attention to the overall.  Damn, sorry I missed it.  Maybe if I go back to the day I can see it again and take immense and deep pride.  Other than Rodriguez (who else was there to pick of the Group one riders?) and Kittel, it is not a bad team if one or two guys come through in the mountains.  I have high hopes.

We can't see each others' teams by clicking, can we?

Rodriguez Oliver Joaquim
Quintana Rojas Nairo Alexander
Kittel Marcel
Majka Rafal
Uran Uran Rigoberto
Matthews Michael
Cunego Damiano
Poels Wout
Aru Fabio
Pirazzi Stefano
Wellens Tim

I saw it, I saw it.  Top of the whole damn league.  Puffed up or what.

Thanks for noticing.

On the other hand, I now have no sprinters at all, both Kittel and Matthews gone.  But they did get me some points before departing, so who's to complain.  And no Rodriguez.

Even so, I still should do something, Uran, Majka, Quintana and some guys like Wellens who is doing just fine for a cheap guy.  Poels is coming good too, so who knows.

Thanks, I hadn't actually looked yet.  Had to get back from the meeting, then fix dinner, then I am off to a movie.  Hot life in the sticks of France.

Just watched the last 30k or so.

Top of the page!  What a life I lead!

hi levi
The Cobblestone Fantasy Cycling League
Well done FF and well done Maffy for still leading
The Cobblestone Fantasy Cycling League
See you all at the Tour.

I expect I only beat Maffy, or the Laughing Group for that matter, because they picked someone for the various other races in the overall competition, and I only picked for the Giro.  Still.  I like being at the top better than the middle or bottom, as I often was.

Just took a serious look at the league and my team.  Not going to be a great Tour for me, unless I get lucky.  Three of my first four picks are out.  Cav, Contador and Talansky.  For the rest of the Tour I rely on guys like Sagan,  Matthews, Dumoulin, Goss, Van den Broek, van Poppel (oops he is out too), Zubeldia and Rolland.  Not a pretty picture.  Haven't even seen Goss, not sure he is in the race, Rolland seems to be very confused.  Matthews has been quiet, is he still in the race?

Not going to be much sense of triumphant insight and great team construction for the next two weeks.  Maybe my second rate climbers will do something incredible.

Full marks and congrats to Maffy again.  Guess I will try harder in the Vuelta.  He has the knack.  Thought I was doing well, in spite of losing my four guys, but in the end…. well …. the best guy won.

Good luck guys, see you at the Giro.
The Cobblestone Fantasy Cycling League
Trying to put a team together.  I am noticing, and wonder if others are, that in the rider 1-3 sections, it begins to appear like no one very good or very highly rated is riding the Giro.  I fell like there is only one choice in rider 1 (Contador), hardly more than one or two for riders 2 and 3.

Am I missing something or is "no-one" riding the Giro?
The Cobblestone Fantasy Cycling League
You mean Uran (robbed last year), Porte (in amazingly good form), Aru (in very bad form compared to previous amazingly good form), Hesjedal (winner not too long ago) ?
The Cobblestone Fantasy Cycling League
Not really my point, I don't think.  I mean that as I went through the top five choices, only one was riding the Giro, so we all will pick Contador.  In Rider 2 Choices, there are I think two riding out of ten.  My first thought is Gerrans, but I think I had only one other choice.  So if the riders are "rated by performance in the groups", there is virtually no choice for us in terms of the first two or three groups.  Nearly anyone will pick Porte, in whatever low group he is from, obviously.  He is so low in the groups becasue he did bugger all last year.  I mean that there seems to be not much choice in our picks, not much anguishing, not much weighing things up.  Obviously in the lower groups it is hard to pick, sometimes hardly anyone appeals, but that is normal.

Congrats to Gerry, first page, second in the entire shebang today.  A good day.

Fifteenth overall!

Bloody Hell, so I am.  Very seldom look at Cobblestone these days but I suppose having Landa and Modolo has served me well this last week...

I just need Gavazzi to come good tomorrow Laughing
