Sweet Painted Lady Smile

So she lays down beside me again
My sweet painted lady, the one with no name,
Many have used her and many still do
There's a place in the world for a woman like you.

Then its some Angus Young before the Ventoux

Rancid for me.

"I looked out on the big field
it opens like the cover of an old bible
And out come the wolves
their paws trampling in the snow, the alphabet
I stand on my head and watch it all go away"

I think Levi was the one standing on his head today.

This week it's been old Broadway hits and Judy Garland. Man, she had pipes! Wow! Also Edith Piaf. I'm not sure what's wrong with me.

I love Piaf - she is so.... French! My two favourite songs - "C'est a Hambourg" and "Les Amants D'un Jour". Cape you must be an old romantic methinks.
I've been trying to sell a Judy Garland CD boxset for about 6 months and I can't - I don't understand this!!!

Oh and what have I been playing?
Mozart Clarinet Quintet and Clarinet Concerto both on ASV CD with green ink. Piaf by coincidence, Dexter Gordon and Wardell Gray "Master Swingers" Fontana LP, Reverend Gary Davis on Yazoo LP - well that's last night and this morning.
Mozart has crept up on me over the years - I used to think it all tippytoes, but it's beauty gradually reveals itself. It is indeed profoundly wonderful music.
I used to occasionally meet John "Gypie" Mayo - ex Feelgoods guitarist and a fellow customer of a well known but now defunct Southend record shop...... and each time he was buying Mozart.....

I apologise most humbly for listening to Mozart. Sorry I won't let it happen again.
