Funny one this Vuelta. We score hardly any points on many days (in our own little game), no idea at all who is going to win a stage, could be anyone. Our teams in the Giro Game behave oddly since there are people quitting all the time, people we picked and thought might actually finish the race. My mainly sprinters team (with Cancellara and Valverde) seems still to be doing well, when I thought they would fade badly during the "heavy mountain stages" of the Vuelta. Odd. Even my other team, instead of a middling performance, my usual sort, is also doing well.
Overall, I keep getting the feeling that picking a winner on a day is a bit of luck. I thought maybe yesterday Jesus Hernandez might want to win badly enough, since he lives in Avila, that something would go his way. But not so.
Odd race. But not illogical, just not too much fun and really quite impossible to predict. It is as much fun sometimes to watch our teams as it is to hope for big action on the actual course.

| Tight at the top of the league. FF's sprinters team is still in there, bit not many riders still in it to pick up GC and Sprint points? |

Funny how that team has stayed up there, although of course having Valverde and Cancellara has helped a bit. It is annoying that so many of the team have quit NOT due to injury, they just quit to "prepare" for the World's, which is not supposed to be for sprinters. Bunch of lily livered wimps. |

Still asking simple questions.
Noel is nrt, right? He organises and runs that game, right? And is on our forum.
What is the role of MJM, since people are thanking her?
Just trying to catch up.
I now see Bartali's earlier point about Just a Team, they suddenly fell 100 places into mid table at the end of the race, presumably because they had nobody except Valverde on the GC. Is that right? It is rather huge weight on the GC, in spite of doing well during the entire Vuelta. Good to try the experiment though.
I love doing the post race analysis. If I had not picked x and picked y ... |

I'm quite happy at that after young schlecky bugging out early. Shows how "odd" the Vuelta was this year. _________________ It's just my opinion, if you don't like it....TOUGH

How come Oundle Outrage is not on the podium and I am? Which score is the typo? Congrats to my countryman and to the ever thoughtful Bartali.

Col de Petafi is the climb, very short, that takes one from our valley into the flat bit that leads to Beziers and the Med, in case anyone wondered. |

Fontfroide, Noel is NRT, and his team is Oundle Outrage. Earlier this year, he asked for some help in keeping the results up-to-date, and MJM volunteered.
So we thank both of them! _________________ "You can't win races with passion alone."
