Thanks Maffy.  Guess I will dump Dan Martin and buy someone for the Tour of Missouri or Britain or whatever else is going on.

I packed it in as well - when I was leading the table Shocked   There were too many mistakes and omissions.

Tom never responded to emails and didn't correct mistakes.  OK, I know I make mistakes with the FP's, but I do correct them as soon as someone tells me about them.

I gave up really before it started, went on to the site one night in here (work) and started having all sorts of funny messages coming up, don't need that here or at home. The guy wouldn't respond to mail either so I gave it up but yes agreed it would be a great site.

I also think it very high maintenance keeping a team up together for nearly every race on the calendar, I have enough probs keeping up with my FP's on here!!

It certainly was a lot of work, very high maintenance.

So is anyone here playing it any more.  Looks like a couple of people have picked Vuelta teams.

I suppose something like the playstation game Procycling manager on a website would be the ultimate fantasy game.

Take a fair budget and build your team to ride the best of the seasons races, pro tour and others. Once picked that's it no fiddling about with it, but from there you nominate your races for the team riders, with rules about how many they can ride that sort of thing.

Different than the gambler one, no trading through the year. I couldn't write it or have the time to manage it but it would be fun.

MUM, I have Cunego in one of my teams - I think he deserves support!

Slapshot, and couple of months ago, I started writing a fantasy game similar to the gambler game.  I haven't got very far with it yet.  I was thinking of something rather simpler.  Picking a squad at the start of the year, then selecting 9 riders or whatever for certain races.  A list of races like the FP list??

Used to do a lot of programming in my youth Laughing , but I'm a bit rusty now.

I would go for Gesink myself, and I have.

I am not sure I mentioned that I have two teams too.  In the Vuelta game.  One has seven sprinters, Cancellara and Valverde.  The other is a more normal balanced team with three sprinters and seven GC guys.   What puzzled me a little bit is that on both teams I seem to have point to spare.

Should be fun to see which team does best.

I must admit to having no idea how to pick which sprinters for which joker stages at the beginning.  Ihave gone for the strategy of picking the same guy, in the hopes that he might get one of the places.

I am Just a Team.   And Team Petafi.

The excellent score that I currently have with Just a Team is a slight fluke, so those of you who are used to doing well, no worries.  It is my experimental team of Cancellara, Valverde and seven sprinters.  So I expect it will begin to fall away in the second week.  Although who knows, could be a brilliant strategy.  Meanwhile I am rather enjoying the high standing, a bit better than my usual mid table efforts.

one stop quick steppe shop is glorious nation of kazakhstan's flagship branches of poundland group. when you crossing the marvelous tourist country of kazakh motherland using silk road, you stock up with provisions, bargain branded sportsgoods and essential wowgold at your local handy one stop quick steppe shop. and best of all, everything's only a tenge. just one single tenge! or one dollar or one europound, whatever you lovely peoples is carrying with you. is bargainous in any currency.

one stop quick steppe shop's cycling sponsorship is experimental team, where all riders cost single tenge. just like at branch of one stop quick steppe shop. come visit and buy cheap things. current excellent score is slight fluke, expect team to fall away, not work from the outset, break or otherwise disintegrate in second week. no worries, though, it only costs a tenge!

I see Maffy, a bit cheap and nasty like Wink

Just noticed another 'Swedish' team on there 'Vacchi Locos'.  Who is the Swede, or the preudo-Swede?

How come no one posted the results when I was tied for bloody first place?  I have never done that in my life with any fantasy team, even if it is an oddball team, that won't be there long.  Shit, I got back home and felt triumphant and brilliant for a day. No idea what that Just a Team did before, no internet access.  Can one access past standings?

Anyway I thought I would take the occasion to brag a bit, and feel like an ace picker with a keenly thought out strategy.  Now if Valverde and Cancellara do their stuff in the next few days, Just a Team might still be up there for a bit, upholding the honour of our forum and the motherland, as Maffy appreciates.

Anyway, Just a Team (even Team Petafi is not doing badly) permits me to take lofty view of my wisdom, knowledge and skills for once, and I will try not to mention this or brag again.  But once is OK surely?
