Nice pick Bio

I hadn't realised, so I've pinched half Bio's points. Embarassed
Still, the way his hot streak is working, a bit of man-to-man marking might be the way to go.
He currently has the Midas touch.

I wouldn't worry too much about Froome - he'll be there when it matters. Anyway, Porte will 'blow-up' like always. Good rider but I'll be shocked if he ever makes a GT podium.

Porte has been a tad unlucky at critical times in GTs, but the best riders don't seem to be affected by misfortune the same way he does.  It is food for thought that he held the race lead and won the Young Rider classification all them years ago in his breakout Giro and since then his GT results are:

TDF - 72, 34, 19, 23, 48, 5

Giro - 7, 81, DNF

Vuelta - 68

Given his form this season, you would have to think it is now or never for him, and I'd be leaning towards the latter...

And he's 32, so it really is getting to now or never.

We've been saying that about Valverde for all of this decade Wink  Wink

Heck of a stage.
Birdsong beat Bio.Razz
Froome impressive too.
Aru finds his GT form, straight off the bat.

That was a cracker of a last 30km. I'm not a fan of Chris Froome but a major chapeau necessary for the way he hammered that descent, impressive!

Enjoyed that.  If Aru has got back to that form with no racing, then I fancy him for the podium come July.

Bertie now looks well past his best.

Aye, Contador has been on a slow slide for some time now.  Don't worry though, he'll still pull an audacious Contador classic attack that will take the breath away and we will all say 'only he could have done that'.  Those moments are fewer and further between, and a little less effective every time...

Brilliant descending from Froome - reminds me to check the TDF profiles

Watched the last bit and loved it.  It was a proper climb, with people getting dropped and coming back and fading slightly under attack ... and so forth.  A pleasure to watch.  Bit sad that Chaves and Yates could not contribute more to the racing, but they finished together, so might have had a chat about how they will make waves in the next two days.  Meintjes seems to be in reasonable shape, given the Tour is some weeks away, and he has certainly been promising something for ages.  No idea what happened to Barguil, he seemed so promising and then drops six minutes on one hill.  Clearly not everyone is on top form.

Just out of curiosity does anyone know why Gaudu withdrew?

Notice Latour made a respectable ride for young lad.  I wonder if he will turn into a champ in a year or two.

Emmanuel Buchmann, I surely didn't know much about him, actually nothing whatsoever.

And still two more days.

It was!! He seems to have changed his style over the last 15 months.  Arguably a bit less zip on the climbs, but much more audacious than before.  Better from a spectator perspective.

But what was Porte playing at. Did he forget that he was no longer on Sky's books? He must have towed Froome for about 3km then got scorched on the descent ...

Nothing in today's news, but he did crash on the recon of the TT course the other day.

Buchmann won the German national title a couple of years back, at 22.
3rd last year in the Tour's young rider competiton, behind Yates and Meintjes.

At least Froome and the crowd barriers won't be looking for half the points after interfering with my pick Wink

I'm liking Bardet more and more.  He reminds me of Nibs.

Dropping a load of time beforehand sure helps in the old panache stakes. Wink

Is the pound going to be worth anything by the end of July? Wink

OK, I'll take you up on it if it's serious, but since it wouldn't really change either of our retirement plans, the loser just puts the winners winnings in a good cause box they come across?

French and Italian TV has gone live, if people are being let down by ES. 40km to go. Front of the race is very fractured and Porte looks isolated.
