There seems to be a helicopter that is dedicated to TV pictures of other helicopters.

Romance is way better than winning a few points.

GVA gets his monument and well deserved too.  It would have been a travesty if Stybar had won that.

They gave little cobbles to the podium and a BIG one to GVA.  Is this normal?  I never noticed the little cobbles.

From Sagan's perspective - i'd say that was a missed chance. He flatted twice and both times at a point where he was charging off the front. Firstly without GVA and secondly just after bridging across to that winning 5tet. Maybe he needs to work on his gracefulness over the cobbles. I Don't think he was tired - more just how he works the power he picked up some flats.

From Tommeke's perspective. It must have been a very frustrating race. He rode a great race. Some good accelerations on the harder cobbled sections - but what the hell happened to his team? By Arenberg they were down to just Trentin & Stybar.... allowing Trek and BMC to take control of the race.

Wherever he went, Degenkolb followed... I understand that John Degenkolb can only win from a sprint... but ffs John.. WORK A BIT.. I wouldn't be surprised if he even went into the shower with him after. Such a negative way to ride it, i'm almost (very tentatively almost) happy that GVA won from that small group.. not to have gifted a bunch sprint to a wheelsucker who hadn't even put his nose in the wind.

Stybar was perfectly OK not to work with them, only starting in last 5km or so when it was clear Boonen wasn't coming back. Nothing wrong with that in my book, especially given how much he was doing in the last 100km.

He's been taking a lot of flak for this on various forum, but I agree with your view.
He and did a heck of a lot of work for Boonen over the early sections, when things were the most chaotic and animated.  Trentin aside, the rest of the Quick Step super team disappeared en masse.

Edit: Talking of which: the mystery of the disappearing Terpstra is solved.....

I wouldn't disagree that Stybar was doing a job for a team in the run in, but i also agree with those that said they were pleased it didn't work for the team (at least in terms of a Stybar victory).  It was negative tactics - justified (maybe) but not edifying.

I don't pay attention to any other forums, but maybe it's a  a collective reaction to Spring and what is not the first instance of QS riders sitting on other riders? Despite them having the strongest team. Last week they took the race on and it was all the better for it.
