Figured I might as well just put all of the first week into the same thread as there was no obvious split into smaller chunks and they pretty much stay in Galicia for the week. Avoiding transfers to give everyone a rest after the Olympics?

Orica Bike the current leaders, but it looks as if BMC may well take it.
Sky doing quite good, but Movistar slightly down at the early CP.

Edit: Or not. OBE by less than 1 second still lead after BMC fade.

Flipping negative splits.
Kennaugh into the leader's jersey as Sky pinch it on the line from and incredibly fast finishing Movistar.

A pretty neutral looking stage, today, but tomorrow it's a finish up the mad Mirador.

Ridiculously steep, was used in 2012 on stage 12, but being used this time as the first uphill finish:-

2012: Stage 12 Results
1  RODRIGUEZ OLIVER, Joaquin (KATUSHA)                  4:24:32
2  CONTADOR VELASCO, Alberto (SAXO BANK-TINKOFF BANK)    + 0:06
3  VALVERDE BELMONTE, Alejandro (MOVISTAR)               + 0:13
4  GESINK, Robert (RABOBANK)                             + 0:20
5  FROOME, Christopher (SKY PROCYCLING)                  + 0:23
6  MORENO FERNANDEZ, Daniel (KATUSHA)
7  ANTON HERNANDEZ, Igor (EUSKALTEL - EUSKADI)           + 0:27
8  ROCHE, Nicolas (AG2R LA MONDIALE)                     + 0:31
9  NIEMIEC, Przemyslaw (LAMPRE - ISD)                    + 0:33
10 VERDUGO MARCOTEGUI, Gorka (EUSKALTEL - EUSKADI)       + 0:36

TTT ... just a joke as always. notwithstanding the weaker teams being at a disadvantage for the next 20 days, we now have so-called favourites a minute down.

I presume Contador being a minute down on the likes of Froome and Quintana is the specific one Bart has in mind. In general I don't mind the TTTs so much and they are an unofficial feature of many MTFs these days anyway. In this specific case it just means Contador needs to attack more. I can live with that Smile

Agreed .... so why have a TTT to compound the 'problem'?  Oh hum ...

Meersman wins the battle of the third rate sprinters in what can only be described as a mess of a slow sprint.
No team trains=no control.

Sky giving the breakaway more than a fighting chance once again.
They can't be arsed to chase.
The others are now thinking about it.
