Well this season opener has lost it's grand position because the big Pro names no longer take part.
Dam the UCI for clashing the Oman money fest with this event.

This week the result was.
1 Fabio Felline (Ita) Italy 4:54:01
2 Romain Hardy (Fra) Fortuneo - Vital Concept 0:00:25
3 Mauro Finetto (Ita) Delko Marseille Provence KTM
4 Matteo Trentin (Ita) Italy
5 Cyril Gautier (Fra) AG2R La Mondiale

Next week they do it again with Oman and Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

Oman is already underway, Mr S.
I think you mean the Abu Dhabi Tour.
Seems when WT races clash, there is only one winner....

calendar clashes as dwars and de panne clash this season and may go to court over it

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/d...vlaanderen-clash-over-2018-dates/

tour of turkey postponed, what with cancellation of qatar, this raises eyebrows to the uci project of promoting these races

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/a...y-postponed-will-seek-later-date/

like last year, turkey had maybe 2 world tour teams in lotto and lampre and pro continental team in the dominant caja rural

but the big thing is the route of the rás revealed
http://www.stickybottle.com/lates...e-unveiled-climbs-shorter-stages/

the climb on the last day to bellewstown, i know that very well. i remember struggling up that many's a time, tough hill and a heartbreaker with dread on whether there'd be any power left even at the half way point, whether help would be needed

ah, that fiat 127 of my fathers. that car had its struggles on that hill and most hills.

The expansion of the WT calendar is proving to be very costly.
A calendar clash with Dwars could kill De Panne altogether.

so the Ras decides not only to come to Donegal, but to spend a few days in my part of Donegal (past the end of my road, no less!) when I've booked to spend that week visiting my son in Shanghai......   Rolling Eyes

Hate that, Ventoux!  If it is any consolation it will likely be wet and windy but you knew that already.  I have a buddy in Raphoe so I might make it my business to visit him that week...

Ah, poor Ewan. I think it's really a rite of passage for a sprinter to celebrate too soon

Made up for it today, i'm surprised that they didnt cancel the stage. I've raced on moto circuits, off the regular racing line they are like an ice rink when wet.

Brief shout out for Bauke too.. great work yesterday for securing 4th.

Until this season, Laurent Pichon had never won a race above 2.2 in his eight year career.
Today, he notched up his third win in under two weeks, by taking the Route Adélie de Vitré.

I've rarely seen such a perfectly executed team plan.  Kudos to Moscon, Landa and Special K.

For a guy who had been chased down he seemed pretty happy to celebrate the victory as Special K crossed the line. Just haying ... Smile Smile
