I saw this on Sunday, made a bundle of comments on twitter. It is hugely sad and as well as being a great commentator if you liked his style ( big fan of it) His commentaries also gave you a braod spectrum knowledge of the countryside and maybe helped pique my interest in France and Italy, their geography, culture and cuisine.

Duffers has been sadly missed on Eurosport, RIP old chap!

Interesting throw away comment about 2 week Vuelta

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/c...nt-with-aso-on-worldtour-reforms/

General trend of below the line comments of Cookson wanting to shorten Vuelta for more far away races, but I would have thought of that's being discussed now it's down to ASO?

This was live on French Eurosport today, but it all boiled down to these 11, amazing seconds.

Bit of a late reaction to this one... but i think Lars would be crazy to do that. He wouldn't be on the same level as van der Poel and Aerts.

I like Nibs and think he's a classy rider.. but by goodness since the Tour win he has been treading water and is getting his butt kicked regularly.

a Giro win would be very good... very good indeed.

I guess at least Nibs is a complete rider... he can think about putting time into Landa in the TTs... and time into Dumoulin in the mountains. Mind you, that leaves Valverde to deal with..

Nibali is the today's break with Cunego.
It's seems to have become his MO for warm up races before the big event. Wink

Nibali really struggled on the 1st cat.
Went from out the front, to out the back in short order and although he tried, couldn't get back on the descent.
Fell away in the rolling run in.
Another fascinating stage with Kangert getting a second win and the 10 seconds bonus for the GC win.
Except Landa pinched 3rd, the 4 seconds that went with it and held on by just 2 seconds.

croatia organisers seem quite cruel having a team time trial on stage 5 over 40kms long

I think today's Tour of Turkey stage was perhaps the most boring flat stage run in I have ever seen. Maybe it was a bit more exciting when the echelons were forming.

I did find myself compelled to watch though to see if the Etix trait of conspiring to lose stages might be catching amongst Belgian teams.
