On an unrelated note, I got Mrs SR an early birthday present - a new turbo trainer! We now have one each, so can do a little "side-by-side" when the mood strikes. Who says romance is dead? Smile

Only just catching up on the forum after a few days away - I don't remember it being an early birthday present.  Evil or Very Mad

Hell's Bells - another domestic blunder. Looks like there's a new entry at #1 on my list of "Important tasks to attend to"... Smile

Our two work bikes were in need of BB replacement but when I went to do them the weekend before last I realised I had loaned my crank extractor to a mate.  Rather than go around the houses (he in turn loaned it to his brother Rolling Eyes) I ordered a new one that arrived today.  I had a busy day and really shouldn't have started into the job, especially as I should be revising for exams next week, but I let stuborness get the better and I went at it.

Mistake.

Everything was going ok and I had removed the BB handy enough but then managed to spill degreaser all over the garage, so I took the job outside.  Then it rained.  Then I spent half an hour looking for the tube of copper grease that I knew I bought a few months ago.  I eventually found it, smeared a little on to the threads, stepped back and promptly stood on said tube of grease squirting it everywhere.  Anyway, eventually fitted BB, put cranks back on and was just about to rivet the new chain when I realised the cranks were at 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy

I am now revising for exams Wink
