I'm totally confused.  What are 'personal images'?

I can post pics of this dozy mare but if you quote it then you effectivley break the rule. I'd only be concerned if was kids.

Everything that's public domain is fine, you take pics at at race they are your pics but the event was public so no probs there.

Hope that helps

Slapshot,

Is it technically possible to blank out or just omit all/any pictures in a quoted reply....gets round this particular issue and would be generally useful in threads like the caption contests where we sometimes get pages and pages of the same image(s) replayed.

Just a thought...

Just don't post any images that you don't have permission to post. If somebody posts a personal picture, we don't have permission to 'quote' it in our reply. Of course, if the original poster gives permission, its OK.

OK, I hereby give permission for any JC member to post any of my photos in their replies on the JC forum.

Did it? The offender only seems to have been embarrassed into action today - 9 months after the event. Rolling Eyes

In general. I'm completely relaxed about people quoting any pics I post. I wouldn't post them otherwise and IMO if people are going to post pics on a public forum, then being quoted quite readily falls under the "fair use" category if the use is fair. On the other hand abusing the privilege for waging a personal vendetta will show the poster up for what they are.

Anyway, happy to follow the new guidance.

Someone needs to tell Huw that it is safe to come back.

I have a question - what is the position about existing (old and current) that break the new rules. For example we have the issue of Frodo's teeth and suspected HGH usage. Now if I have a further comment about the increasing size of his head - do I make a new thread, post in the old thread or what? Afterall, we don't want to upset the 'anonymous' complainers.

As it goes Bio, I genuinely thought I'd deleted the picture right back at the time.  When I saw it again today, I thought there was little sense in adding insult to injury. I'm happy to apologise for that post.

In turn I'd like to think that one day you may see the light and understand that supporting a forum-wrecker was infuriating to the great majority of posters who just wanted to post in a normal sane manner.

Somebody who has a "vendetta" against everybody is far more of a problem than somebody who has enough commonsense to spot the bad apple and have the guts to say so.  And you might like to think about that in connection to recent events.

Mrs John Murphy - and you need a reality check.

I'm not sure if you'll ever know what has really happened, but I can tell you that: a) it had zilch to do with me or any other JC posters.  b) it is however highly likely that it had everything to do with your adolescent outpourings.

And with that I'll say no more.  No doubt you'll try and have the last word, but then you need a life and I don't.

Pray tell how you know that?

You clearly know where the complaint came from which is more than I do .... which does lead me to the conclusion that you have something to do with it???

I've pm'd you Bartali.

I haven't pm'd you Bio because you'd probably post it on the forum.

Boys and Girls, can I just reiterate once and for all that there is no proof whatsoever that Sooty had anything to with the issues we've had to address but that it came from outwith JC. Yes he could have spiked something from another server, yes, he could have stirred someone to make the complaint onhis behalf but I'm more and more certain that this complaint has come from a corporate source!!

I can't tell people to like or dislike another forum persona but lets put this to bed, if i had thought for a single second that this had been Sooty I'd have hit the banned button there and then.
