Nolte, that bit of Neighbours is donkey's years old I haven't seen the programme since I left the UK (nearly 12 years ago), and Harold had already died twice then, and Lou, I think.

even though it's "official," i'm still wagering on santambrogio scoring most uci/cq/fantasy points next year for bmc. cdc don't seem to have announced any big ones yet, despite chicken rumours. any recent news on gibo? turning out to be an interesting musical chairs transfer season. _________________ ...on the one hand, we were serious political revolutionaries who wanted to overthrow the government. on the other hand, we were on acid... |

According to the comic, Sky will announce their final tranche of signings, by Friday.
DB is quoted as being excited.
Are there any Scandanavians left for him to bag?
Meanwhile, in the Cafe, there is much speculation that Sky won't get a TDF invite, but none going against BMC. |

I certainly don't have the connections that Huw does, and have no idea if the specualtion s of one guy on the Cafe should be taken too seriously. But my own guess is that there is not way whatsoever that Sky will be excluded from the Tour. It is the only UK team, and if they have any kind of results during the first couple of months of the season, then I am very much convinced they will be invited. I admit that the amazing growth of new teams and the fact that new sponsors seem to be found by many teams makes the whole thing complex and fascinating. I suppose those who thought sponsors would disappear on account of drug use will be happy they were wrong. I reckon that ASO is looking very carefully at the deal they signed with sixteen teams to see if they can break the deal with some team like Footon or Astana. I am sure they are half-heartedly trying to squeeze in one Dutch team, given the start of the race, but I doubt if that is a really big consideration. I mean who could possibly want to eliminate Katusha, the missile team, or Cervelo or Evans for some second rate Dutch team that has two French riders on it, neither of whom is all that great. The entry of BMC into the picture does complicate matters.
But no way Sky won't be invited. They must have the biggest budget of any team, and if they manage to do something spectacular in the next few hirings, they must be in. |

I don't think Sky will be excluded, either, FF, regardless of who they may sign.
Sky is Murdoch and Murdoch is media. Right up the ASO's street.
Just thought it an odd debate, they were having, as a number of them thought it likely, when the obvious conclusion is the one above. |

It's like flares in the attic - keep them long enough and they're back in fashion.
Back on track and on the subject of Dutch teams, I'd expect to see Vacansoleil start the Tour. Just my guess. |

According to the Procycling twitter, Sky're going to announce a huge signing who isn't Wiggins or Contador.

According to biciciclismo.com Andalucia-Cajasur has signed Jose Angel Gomez Marchante (cervelo) and Manuel Vazquez (Contentpolis AMPO).
Now if that "huge" Sky signing happens to be Sastre........they could be starting to look thin on top. |

I'd have guessed that Evans would have been the missing podium contender in the Sky jigsaw and it would have been interesting to to see how they would have managed his mind. |

Here it is, the HUGE Sky signing is..................
http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/ne...o-cioni-set-to-join-team-sky.html
Dario Cioni!
No, once again, Sky have put back the big news, which now seems to be all about Bradley and Garmin's settlement fee.
Is it just me, or is anybody else already bored with all the Sky hype? |

I'm bored with all the Wiggins hype - he got lucky, the TTT put him in a great position, the Pyrenees were a joke, he was able to stick in on the other climbs because the real GC contenders/climbers were already off the front and he was with the tempo climbers.
If Sky seriously think they can turn him into a climber with the zip to make an attack stick and take minutes then good luck to them but won't he be too old in 5 years (the projected timeline for getting a British TdF winner) - he's already 29 and Alberto and the Schlecklet have years on him??
