Menchov not even in top 20 on the climb - never mind the descent!
Game over... coz on TTT he's gonna lose the same again.
Great to see Evans survive with the Astana dream team.
Good signs for Kreuziger too. _________________ 03-11-2007 = the end |

Leipheimer is screwed. Evans has 7 seconds on him!"
Menchov's thoughts elsewhere?

Contador has done what he had to do. They're all chasing him now. He should be in a dominant position once they hit the Pyrenees.
Menchov's Tour could be over by the end of the TTT. He wasn't even the first Rabo rider home, which is saying a lot in a team that lacks depth in that department!
Solid from Evans and Sastre. |

IO don't think that's safe to assume. It's asking a lot for him to come in and win the prologue, much the less the Tour, but his TT form was top-notch in the Giro. I'm interested in how he finishes compared to those who contested the Giro, like Leipheimer. |
I think the first worry Denis has, will he get caught by Cancellara
Sorry but I've just seen the 2 minutes. |
My mistake but 1min 30secs
A result I looked at says @ 1min 31secs. ??
and Menchov is now behind.
Contador ..1.13
Evans.......1.08
Levi..........1.01
C.V.V....... 0.35
Andy........0.31
Sastre......0.25
but in front of
Frank..... 0.05
No other Contenders are there.

Menchov had a bad day but ultimately he lost a minute 20. Look at it this way - if any of the other riders were to have a bad day on a road stage a lose a minute they would not necessarily be ruled out.
People were ruling Sastre out last year after he lost a minute 20 on Evans in the first ITT.
Also, Rabo are not a terrible team for the TTT - 25 down on Astana with a non TT team and better than Liquigas, Cervelo and Saxo.
I think anyone writing any rider's obituary after one stage is more than a little premature.
