Great shame.  I actually saw Spex in the Vortex, and that wasn't today or yesterday (I was still in school though!).

the boxer Henry Cooper died yesterday at the age of 76
What caught my eye in the Irish times front page in brief of it was that it said he was best remember for a loss.
he wins 40 boxing matches and what is he remembered for? his losses (albeit a loss to Cassius Clay)

Woah there!  There are the small matters of a Tour de France win, a Vuelta win and an Olympics Road Race title, amongst others!

To be honest, though, if I did a word association game with "Ullrich", it would go:

Ullrich, cake, ecstacy, puerto

Which is probably worse...

A great man.  He played here last year and my mate reckons it was the best gig he has ever seen.  RIP

I almost know the words to some of his songs, and I never know all the words.  Marking a time, could happen to any of us, of a certain age.  Normal, and yet really quite sad.
