I would just like to join the others in saying it's great to hear from you berg, and to wish you all the best. I have often wondered what had happened to you, and I am relieved to know you are still with us. As for the volunteer request, I would be happy to do anything to help the forum I can but I must say I'm not very IT proficient, I get lost any time a serious IT discssion breaks out here. Does it require any great technical skill? _________________ "and if you are not careful in the morning you could wake up dead" |

Meant also to say, it's good to see one comeback which unites the forum... _________________ "and if you are not careful in the morning you could wake up dead" |

Berg,
Thanks for all your efforts. Sorry to hear about your accident, but it sounds like you are recovering. I hope all will continue to go well, and we'll hear more from you too.
EDIT:
FYI: we were trying to get a hold of you a few months back. www.justcycling.net doesn't point to justcycling.myfastforum.org anymore. |

I did have a road accident. I was ran over by a car while I was coming back from work cycling.
It has been around 6 months since the accident and I am still recovering, although it is nearly the end of it.
I had a broken nose, right leg, several teeth, and nearly my back, but still alive.
This hasn´t taken my hunger for cycling in any possible way, as soon as I get the green light I will jump on the bike again.

Bloody Marvelous, Your Alive.
So how much good did the Crash hat do for you
I had no "Hat" but I got similar Injuries (and I'm sorry for the Me,Me,Me next bit)
Then like you my nose was reset and my top front teeth gone with a fractured Skull and Collar Bone and my Arm almost ripped off at the Elbow. (The fingers moved and shocked the Doctors and now the Arm is 98% OK)
14 years later I have just got out of Hospital and a Hip Replacement which they think was due to the "RTA" and this years X rays have shown it to be "Bone on Bone" and the pain I thought came from my Spine.
The reason for the long post is to do with your "Back" and which you say very little but with a weakness there, it can become in time, more serious than any of your other Injuries.
I think the way you set this Forum up has survived any need for anyone to tinker with it and yes a couple of months ago it "Boiled Over" until the storm passed over. They will do it again and that's why we enjoy your "Forum".
Be Lucky, and take it steady and you wake up each morning (In pain) and give thanks that you are still here.
Glad to have you Back _________________ It's all Publicity "Money" and Cycling is only a Thread it runs along. |

Thank goodness you're OK. We have all been quite concerned about you since you left for Barcelona. What a pity you had an absolutely awful accident and experience, can't imagine it'd be that good fun in a Spanish hospital (or any hospital for that matter).
Glad you're on the mend and it's not put you off from cycling - good on ya mate.
And great to have you back!

Okay, fess up. You were really in a beach house with a lovely lady somewhere.............
in truth, I am so glad that you are ALIVE. I hope that the bastard who hit you has paid a penalty for the transgression. A SEVERE one that comes close to matching the pain and suffering you have undergone these past six months.
If there is anything that I can do to help you, let me know. It is just wonderful to see you back. You are the HOMBRE you know. _________________ "I give up, why a duck?" |

Geez Berg. Sounds terrible, but glad you're coming out the other side and want to get back on the saddle. There were times when I wondered if the "worst" had happened so it's great to hear from you.
Happy to help out on the volunteering round here if I can be of help. |

Great to have you back Berg! I hope that you recovery continues and you are soon back on the bike.
As can be seen from my post count I spend more time reading the forum than posting but I have noticed that things have been a bit fraught at times during your absence. However the atmosphere seems to have improved since your return.
Just been reading today's posts on the forum. I think I was wrong about peace breaking out! |

| I would volunteer to help, but given power I would earn the moniker "Neutron Jackov" as various people would disappear but the forum would remain standing. |

All the best for 2009, when do you think you will be back on the road ???
Cheers from a sunny Tewkesbury.
