When you finally have your cherry popped TT I am sure we'll be able to hear it from here.

Although I'd have thought that with your faced pressed into the pillow your screams of 'joy' might get muffled.

I got to watch 2 matches at the US Open on Wednesday, 9 September.  First was between Oudin and Wozniacki (sp?) and then Federer and Soderling. Not a grunt or sream to be heard. And that fella Federer is smooth, not a bit of wasted movement, very efficient.

Just watched Serena Williams/Kim Clijsters on TV.  What a way to end it.  Williams with a well deserved 2nd violation and point penalty.  Dropped the f-bomb about 4 times on the lineswoman who called a foot fault on her second serve.  Said she'd stuff the effing ball down her throat and waved her racket towards the lineswomen. She put on quite a show in the subsequent news conference too, really not very likable or professional.  Lost her cool and it wasn't pretty. Brava to Clijsters for a great match.

I can't believe it, and tennis is such a bastion of manners and sportsmanship.

They'll be taking drugs next.

Actually, it looked like a little 'roid rage from Serena.  She usually stays pretty cool and calm.  I hope someone in her camp gets to her soon and advises her to apologize and acknowledge her poor sportsmanship, neither of which she would admit to in the interview after the match.

Watching the men's first semi finals now - Nadal and Del Potro.
First two sets won by del Potro : 6-2  6-2
Second set 5-2 del Potro.

Here's a smooth player like Federer. While Nadal runs around the court and grunts and punches his sides after a winning a point which excites the crowd to a roar, del Potro is calm and has his feet on the ground. Lovely to watch...

Federer thru in 3 sets.
S. Williams fined $10K plus $500 for racket abuse.  Jeez, I hope with the $23M she's earned from tennis she can pay cash.

That was a fantastic win by Del Potro! Bravo! Well done! I'm a Federer fan, but when a young tennis player with class like del Potro faces him, it's really a game where the best wins. Kept me up all night yesterday, but well worth it.

Here's what Del Potro has to say:

Excellent win by Del Potro. He's a class act and good for the sport.  May he have many more.

Could you please try to not be so disgusting TT.  It is getting worse and worse with you.  Terrible grammar, poor spelling, virtually incoherent posts.  Attitudes toward women and gays.  You really are a sad case.

The thing about the way Tennis does this is interesting.

The public supposedly only learns of guilty verdicts in suspected doping cases. That is quite the opposite of cycling where the public learns before the tribunals/boards have made a verdict on a case.

Agassi took meth - an incredibly stupid act - but doubtful it gave him any advantage. His career if I remember was in bad, bad shape then.

Not that this stops happening as we all see with Tom Boonen and his penchant for white lines this year...

I wonder why Agassi is fessing up now? His confessions are in his book, which he's obviously plugging, but he can't need the money, surely.

There's enough of interest in Agassi's life and career to fill several volumes without the drugs story, I'd say. Quite how he managed to pull Steffi Graf being worth a chapter at the very least!
