Australia came back strongly this week, this "featherbed pitch" seemed less of a featherbed when Aus were bowling somehow  Wink

This sounds like an interesting film on the subject of cricket finance and the excessive influence of the self-appointed "big three":

I think someone needs to post the cricket score Very Happy

99 for 7

Rogers still in and looking to take Boycott's claim to be the last Ashes opener to carry their bat through a completed inning.
So that means that the other 7 have scored less than 40 between them.

Victory inside three days with Mitch Johnson reduced to a figure of fun. Didn't see that coming, it must be said!

A lead by lunch on the first day would be a novelty!

Don't worry about it because I can't get over his bowling to an OZ No 11 (Agar) on debut who was gifted 98 runs from awful bowling.

Today, Yorkshire won another game by an innings and 100+.
They look set to take back to back County Championships as they lead by 3 wins @
9 wins 4 Draws and Zero lost.

Well they got the Championship. Very Happy
Despite another ridiculous loss to Middlesex (there doesn't appear to be any Middlesex fans on here). Question

Another Great, from my "Black & White" Television days.

Former England cricketer Tom Graveney has died at the age of 88.
Quote:
An elegant batsman, Graveney played 79 Tests for England, scoring 11 centuries and averaging 44.38.

He scored more than 47,793 first-class runs - including 122 hundreds - in a career that stretched from 1948 to 1972 and included spells at Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Queensland.
Memory serves that he was dropped from the England team for several years but when they picked him again he was in his mid thirties.
He then became a reliable high scoring England batsman with grit.
RIP Tom.

I'm sure Jerry would do this one but anyway, it shows how the USA is slowly coming to terms with the "World" of Sports and perhaps the real meaning of World Champions.
Muslims hit for six by NYPD monitoring of cricket. (Back in the day of 9-11)

It's to do with a Pro Mo for an exhibition match.

Good series between Pakistan and England, England showing some signs of putting up a fight at least, but their spinners couldn't match Pakistan's spinners. Pakistan now up to no. 2 in the world, great article about Misbah in particular and his team in general on this blog on the cricinfo website:

I don't know about the men in white but with the "White" ball the England team were devastating.
Even a Whitewash.   Wink

I know I have given him some stick in the past but Broad is absolutely devastating when he runs through a team like that.  Hats off to England, but aren't the Saffers a bit of a dog's dinner at the moment - nobody even wants to skipper them.

I saw Death of a Gentleman over Christmas (on iTunes) and it's a bloody good watch.  I'm afraid with India, England and Oz firmly tucked in at the top table it might not be long before SA go the way of the Windies...

Trying to get my foot out of my mouth also.
Taylor was fantastic though.
Bell has made some great catches but Taylor is a good replacement. WOW
Nice one Joe.
