looked happy, didn't he. silly sport though downhill, their bikes are too small and their shirts too flappy. and they don't actually pedal that much.

That's the sport they get there bikes to the Top on a Ski Lift. !
I'd love to have had a chance of that in my day. That's just up my street.
Sorry it's down my street.

it does look kinda "fun to try" although a ski lift would help Cool

i'm just not sure if it's worth the uci awarding a rainbow jersey for it. if they could manage not to do show off bits on the jumps and there wasn't a limited number of cycling award spots, i might be convinced. chuck the bloody bmx from the limpix, morons.

the wireless coverage was pretty darn good, i thought, for english speaking cycling coverage. well done to simon brotherton and sir obree. whoever fed the questions for steve parry to ask (phils?) did a great job too. excellent.

thanks for the compliments maffy. it was a full-on production job with two new presenters (new, as in new to cycling) in steve parry and mike sewell, and graeme working for the first time as a co-commentator. working with graeme was an honour, he's a super bloke and full of stories and humour despite his well-documented problems. simon brotherton, as ever, was pure silk as a commentator, and we had a young lad called adam tranter doing trackside interviews. he'll be a name to look out for in cycling journalism in years to come.

BMX Brothers
Original stories about real lives in Britain today. 5/6: Alan Dein meets two teenage brothers who are swapping life on a south London estate for the elite British cycling academy.

Su, Dec 6 · 18:05-18:55 · BBC2 - A Day Out

plan a sensible travel itinerary? that would be silly. you could have seen the ghent six, a cyclocross and the christmas market would have been open for al-fresco ice skating. inseine speculation. would have missed all the splendid big puddles, wind, fog and weathery numbers that the uk has to offer at this time of year. mmm, würst. not sure if i like bitzer's new look, however.
