Walkies with the hund this morning Smile

We've been having an extremely fine and dry snow with lots of proper flakes. Photographing those has proved somewhat trickier.

It's a she, but it's all a bit of a grey area here anyway since it's der Hund, which is a masculine noun.

As an aside, I thought German was bad with three words for the, until I started learning Italian and they have 8 words Laughing

PS: If you colleagues hear you're cooing over dogs, whilst telling them that fresh babies are not worth a second look, they'll give you a hard time over it Wink

i do think of people that i went to school with having children with the thought "but they are only my age. they shouldn't have children"

looking at the new normal on e4 on thursday and i was thinking "why do they want a baby? their dog has puppies and they are far better".

anyway, that's my own personal hangups on this

I was reminded of the Italian commentator drinking game discussed with Bio when I saw this http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/v...aples-parking-fiasco-holdup-video Neapolitan parking conundrum.  The holy trinity of Italian complaints - tiredness, heat/cold, and of course traffic...

When the men came carrying the stature of La Madonna I laughed a lot. Some of those processions can be very impressive with regards the size of the statues of herself and giant crucifixes weaighing up to 100Kg (with an awful lot of gold decorations) and being carried by one person. I must dig out a photo.

With the write up mentioning divine intervention, I was expecting the civil defence type bods in the luminous suits to just lift the Fiat up and point him in the other direction. I will say it was calm compared to the traffic arguments I saw. Maybe a difference between north and south?

Our street up a hill on the outskirts of Genoa was rather narrow, and I remember one Sunday hearing a big argument between a man and a woman outside our house. Managed to pick out "lived here for 20 years" and and plenty of "stronzo" and "vaffanculo". It went on for a bit then I could hear a car driving away. A few minutes later somebody buzzed the gate and so went down to see who/what it was and there is a rather sheepish bloke asking to be let in to retrieve his car keys that had been thrown into our garden Laughing

Very Happy  Very Happy

Brian Cox has to be the most annoyingly earnest presenter on TV, no?  Give me the magnificent Jonathan Meades anyday...

This is possibly stretching the boundaries of 'what made you smile today' but I should be on a flight to Bordeaux in an hours time for a weeks holiday.  I got the passports out last night at half eleven and realised only then that my better half's passport expired last month.  A mercy dash to the passport office this morning yielded SFA so let's hope Dublin's currently good weather keeps up for the next few days!  I insured the flights but can't immediately find the section that covers rank fucking stupidity... Twisted Evil

I must revise them TDS Fps...

Sorry to hear that. The spring has finally arrived here just in time for summer.

Is it bad to say that I have been smiling this morning as I was up at 5:30 this to bring Mrs. to airport for a long London weekend and have been out on my bike since in the back fields. Mainly just me and the hay ballers. In one 20km stretch, I met 3 cars. My legs are tired now. Nothing that a beer and a movie of my choice won't fix later Smile
