Who knows, but I suspected that there may be tensions of that kind at some time. I suspect Cav will get the whinger tag thrown at him by some, but I like the fact that he is disappointed by 9th and 10th place.
he didnt seem to get any kind of a lead out today or yesterday
I'm with you kellyrocheearly. His lead out seemed to peel off early and with the wave of an arm seemed to say "I can do no more you're on your own". Cav is there as a sprinter and should be afforded some sort of respect for being such...shouldn't he?
I don't think it was Eisel I think he was the one who gave Cav a lead out after Bert Grabsch.
My guess is Burghardt who was doing his own sprint and came in just behind Cav, though thats just a guess.
There is a big difference between riding the track and the road. Yes the madison does require fantastic bike handling skills but it is not the same as getting on the right wheel for the last 5km of a Tour stage after riding 200km
Absolutely, but the 'experience' comments were referring to his ability to stay upright in a squeeze.
I think you're right about his team not really pulling for him - and a Milram rider veered right across another Tmob with 50 to go again - is there bad blood there? Is this all about signing the list? _________________ =====================================

I'd like to see him doing a predatory role like Friere, and just finding his own backwheel to follow before pouncing. It seems T-Mob (maybe personally Eisel) have another agenda other than getting their man to the last 200m in prime position.
With the exception of Steegmans a few days ago, how often is it that the lead out actually out-places the sprinter! _________________ 03-11-2007 = the end
Who does he think he is? First tour, sharing the sprinters duties, and he is having ago at all and sundry on nearly every stage. Maybe he should just shut his mouth for a while and concentrate on cycling.
You cant always have a perfect lead out train, particularly in the tour. He needs to learn other ways to get to the front.
I like confident riders who are not afraid to speak their mind, but I also think that you are entitled to do that once you have proven yourself. Great potential and all, and I am a bit of a fan, but his wins so far in the season are not at this class and level.
Just pull your head in for a while. Get a win, and then start to open the old mouth.
I know what you mean crash, I have been surprised to hear him be so outspoken. What I would say is that I look back and cringe at some of the things I said and did at 22 and I suspect he will look back at some point and see where he could have kept his head down. But I do think it's a good sign that he is ambitious for success and not satisfied with placings in his first Tour.
It was good to see Geraint Thomas pulling hard at the front yesterday (damn sure it was him) another good young prospect but without the hype on his shoulders so not the same reaction in post-race interviews - wasn't it him who made the joke about falling on a fat sprinter in Stage 2?
I wonder if he will start saturdays stage or will he abandon and go prepare for the Tour of Ireland and the Tour of Britain? _________________ Porridge makes you go faster
I had a quick look at the BBC board and someone there made the good point that if they had picked Roger Hammond he would be the ideal person to calm him down.
He's doing well so far and dont forget about Wegelius, he's capable of some good rides in the mountains or maybe a breakaway on the medium hilly stages _________________ Porridge makes you go faster
