Yikes.I've just been on the trainer. I did a warm up for 10 minutes then put the resistance up and started the session. After 10 minutes at 28kph on level 2 (roughly approximating flat riding), I put in a sprint (as I always do) to clear out the cobwebs.
Today however, as the speedo passed 70kph, My vision all but blacked out, my head started spinning and I had to concentrate extremely hard to prevent my stomach from expelling it's contents from both end simulaneously. After spending some time slumped over the handlebars, I have returned to some semblance of normality, though I'm still a little dizzy with the odd optical flare.
I haven't been on the bike in over a week, and punished myself quite severely on my brother's stag do last weekend so I'm thinking this is probably just a bit of orthostatic hypotension, but would appreciate anyone's thoughts on the matter - is it worth bothering the doc about?

Are you otherwise okay? Not sickening for anything?

if you've been off the bike for a week or so you should never start back with a hard effort. You have to ease your body back into it with a couple of easy days just riding steady before you do the hard stuff again.
I think what happened to you was a case of your body saying "what the hell are you trying to do to me, i'm shutting down"

I've not felt well since about 1977!
I think KRE's right. I was only planning on light spinning for an hour or so, but I always do the little sprint thing and wasn't thinking. I've got a hint of a headache now but am otherwise fine

Funny Bartali, old man!
We'd need a more complete medical history than that to know if you're at risk.

I think it was the remnants of the stag night hangover and that I'm going to be fine but I'll try a pootle on the bike tomorrow and see how I feel then. I'm 5'10 and 130lbs wet through. So depending on your frame of reference - no, I'm not chubby!
- and don't everyone now start saying they're also 5'10 or nine and a bit stone!
