Vuelta Stage 9 Villacastín - Sierra de Bejar. La Covatilla

HuwB

Great, constant picture break up a la Colorado.
Now Eurosport's effing Brian Smith gives out the Plouay result, over the air.
Just onto the lower slopes of the climb, for the break.
maffy

deutsche es just gave away/spoiled spa-francochamps over the air. but that's ok, swung away from that to plouay Smile
Fontfroide

Finish at Plouay still worth watching, last fifteen minutes very good.
HuwB

I have Plouay recorded, so I'll be seeing it.
La Covatilla being raced in the traditional manner. It'll all change in the next couple of km...............hopefully.
Fontfroide

anyone got a connection that does not stop constantly.  I am watching ES with Smith and Harmon, but it is really annoying.  Stopping constantly.

http://sports-livez.com/channel/ch-7.php  is my connection

Thanks.  Same thing though.  Must be my local techno gizmo network.
kathy

This is sorting the men from the boys.  Anton looked better yesterday but has blown again today.  Dan Martin having a good go!
MS

No other decent links?
maffy

scarponi and jrod out in the wind at the back
Fontfroide

Gotta admit its fun to watch, especially with the stopping and starting.  Not quite such continuous racing.
maffy

wiggins go bash - martin win - bad pics all round
Mrs John Murphy

I'd love to know what Wiggins w/kg was on that climb :raisedeyebrows:
gerry12ie

Great stuff!  Brilliant from Wiggins and Dan thoroughly deserved the win.  Both of them now serious contenders
kathy

Mollema leads GC now?
Nolte

Daniel Martin
HuwB

What a terrific final 6kms.
Who would have thought, Rodriguez, VDB and poor old Etna Scarponi would be put through the wringer by the 2 Sky men?

Anybody else noticed that Dan Martin has now won both the major MTF bunch finishes? (not that there was much of a bunch left!)

ladies like gardens and shit. 'spose it's a bit breezy for that suggestion.

Not sure I have seen such a close top ten after two big climbs and several little finishes.  Bodes well for the future.  Seems like we might see some fairly even, surprising racing.
Mrs John Murphy

1 196 MARTIN, Daniel GRM 4h 52' 14''
2 157 MOLLEMA, Bauke RAB m.t. 1ş
3 61 COBO, Juan José GEO + 3''

Once again old hands like Zubeldia and Menchov some how manage to silently get dropped but end up only losing a handful of seconds.

Anybody notice where Roche finished?  He looked to be going backwards at a rate of knots.

Just realized I jokered Dan today for my "One Pointers" fantasy team. Very Happy

Wiggins looks a shoe in for red, tomorrow.

MOLLEMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't seen him climbing this well since the Giro '10... bodes well for a surprise podium spot if he can hold himself together tomorrow.

Isn't this the first leaders jersey in a GT for Rabo since Rassie? Kudos Mollema!

ack... an out of sight, out of mind thing. He's not Dutch anyway! ... Very Happy thx for the reminder.

Just a thought - could Martin lose out on a podium over a very seldom applied time penalty?

apols. i'm not allowed, and to do do so would be presumptuous. they don't watch soaps, and consider watching multi-day-sporting events to be a masculine equivalent.

Nor is Rasmussen Smile

On the subject of Menchov, he and Zubeldia are doing a very good stealth ride. I wasn't sure if he was between the Nibs and Wacky groups or had been dropped by Wacky. As it is, he and Zubeldia contrived to only lose a second to Nibs when at one point I thought they'd lose about 45.

Harmon is going to be super-painful tomorrow.
