Vuelta stage 20 - 27.8km TT Toledo

I've missed so much of it this year it hardly matters, but what have people found to be a decent web feed? I keep seeing TVE being namechecked. Geo restricted?
I see Valverde reckons the bag is now up to to 90%.

Bio, the feeds change from day to day, but I think this is the most reliable

Everyone tells me that TVE, which is an excellent feed, is geo-restricted - I can't tell, of course! But channelsurfing has the Universal Sports ( ) feed, which has English (Australian) commentary. Coverage starts at 16.00CET.
I think Samu will give Valverde a real run for his money in the TT today.

Thanks. CE seem to think they have a pretty comfortable buffer - 3s/km

Millar now leading by a fair margin.

Bartali

Harmon definitely has a think for Evans - sad really.

I've been watching on TVE because Harmon's Spanish pronunciation makes me cringe

cuddle evans...never wins

I'd rather poke my eyes out with a rusty fork than listen to Harmon.

gesink did not look happy, - but he has youth on his side - he'll get other chances.

Bartali

Oh well ....
Basso's ITT has gone to pot .... guess that shows the power of PEDs etc?
Always next year ...

Harmon's man love for Cuddles quite evident.
Still, he rode a great ITT.
Even, worse, were his maths skills, unless you think that 11 minus 5 is 8!
Nice course, pretty enjoyable stage.
I would much rather see 3 ITT's of that length than two ultra long slogs.
Basso should be happy with his comeback year, even though he was off both podiums.
Some consolation for the Aussie and at least Sierra Nevada wasn't his complete downfall.
On that topic, I wonder how much that crash Samu had, the day before and the SN stage, actually cost the scruffy orange man?
Get a shave lad!

Nice podium.
Could say Millar got the shaft!
When in Toledo and all that...........

Bartali

I wonder whether it has been won on time bonuses again? How many seconds did Don Alejandro take in bonus seconds? Not that that is a bad thing necessarily.

I think this is as good as it is going to get for all of the top 4. Basso is never going to get closer and Nibs looks more likely to podium than him. Piti knows that the only place he is safe is Spain, Cuddles is just a fat turd whose mental brittleness means that he will always blow up whenever their is any pressure. SS, well, good ride in a weak field.

Well someone has to win the GTs. I had hoped Basso might have another GT in him, but if he can't descend, cant take seconds at the top of climbs and can't ITT he's going to struggle. Next year we will no for sure.
Maybe its over to the new generation - Nibs, RK, Schleck and Bertie.

Mrs John Murphy

RK has been a serious let down this year. So much for being a super-dom he has been seriously AWOL when both Nibs and Basso needed him.
|
kathy
|
Doesn't RK have a reputation for being rather lazy where training in concerned? Doesn't need to ride for the money - got a rich Daddy.
|
Bartali
|
well Romandie and Suisse weren't too bad. But I do wonder whether he isn't a bit of a prima donna when it comes to helping others.

A little late to join in as I was riding on the track today
Sorry Bartali, I told ya Basso's ITT was not going to do it. Is he a true GC contender now? I tend to think VN is the future of Leakygas in GT's.
Good ride by Millar and a nice way to make up for the awful stroke of weather he had in the prologue in Assen.
I'd say a pretty entertaining Vuelta overall. Certainly more intriguing than the dozer of a TDF we just had.
|
Bartali
|
Is he a true GT contender? I'd have to say maybe. Not many who can nail two top 5 finishes first year back after a 2 year ban. Next year we will know for sure. Nibs and RK are certainly the future though ....

I don't know what Roman Kreuziger snr is doing now but he used to be a pro-cyclist. http://www.cyclingwebsite.net/coureurfiche.php?coureurid=8511
