Vuelta Stage 10 Salamanca > Salamanca 47,0 km ITT 29th Au

Stage 10 Monday 29 August Salamanca > Salamanca 47,0 km ITT

I know the links are broken I am hope that the Vuelta site will fix them

No live coverage of this stage on Eursport, so they have played a blinder, given that the UK home favourite should take the leader's jersey.

Worst news of all?

No live coverage of the Angliru stage on either Eurosport OR ITV 4, next Sunday.
What a joke. They will wheel out the old party line and expect loyalty from their subscribers.
Mrs John Murphy

Is there any UK coverage or are we going to be relying on dodgy feeds?

Once again, ITV 4 are ahead of the Eurosport game, on this.
They are aware of the scheduling clash, so are advertising coverage of the Angliru stage, live, via the net:

http://www.itv.com/lavuelta/2011/live/

Cancellara has just pipped Phinney, by 6 seconds, for the early lead.
Tony Martin 42 seconds faster through CP 1. Shocked

The problem is that signing up for ITV coverage means that they have free license to spam your inbox.
I find it very odd that you have to submit your email to view their online coverage.

Martin 1'27" faster than Spartacus.

As I said all along, Fugalsong was great value at 126-1...Looks like he'll have a chance to win this if he Wiggins falters.

As I suspected, Anton was all hype...Also very dissapointing performances by Scarponi and Rodriguez...

Looking at the big picture, I guess most will assume that Nibali did enough today to limit his losses to go on and win the Vuelta...but I think Fugalsong and Wiggins have a real shot now...Not sure about Froome hanging thru the next MTF's...

I'm not convinced he can survive the long climbs yet to come. He's more likely to falter than a couple of others.

The real best outside bet is Kessiakoff, imo.
I'll guess his odds were even more healthy.
How about Cobo for another long odds each way bet?
Boogerd_Fan

Fuglsang is going to go backwards very quickly (were you watching yesterday... lost 50 seconds on an 8km ramp?) when the real mountains come into play.

Especially as JRod and a bunch of other climbers have nothing to play for but stages; the likes of Nibs, Mollema and maybe even Wiggins, will be able to keep up when the climbers attack somewhat better than Fuglsang.
smarauder68

3 more MTF's should give Nibali the advantage, but he didn't show much the first week.

Fugalsong was very respectable in France and if anything the long season will be his undoing...but I respect his climbing ability and if he can just suck wheels, he'll have a shot if he doesn't lose more than 30 secs to Nibali.
Boogerd_Fan

Q: do you think he's a good climber because he's a former mountain biker and thats the only interesting fact that P&P or Harmon/kirby keep spouting on about?

He was hopeless in France. One of the first Leopard guys to be dropped from their train, even O'Grady and Voigt were able to 'hang tough' longer.
