Good news Red!  But remember, it doesn't mean 8 pints a night is ok Wink

good old beer.. probably not the best recovery drink but as a youngster..
I watched our local football team have a couple after every match..
seemed to help them recover quite well from dehydration and salt loss..
you see I'd think beer contains some electrolytes, carbs and protein..

who would of thunk it..Laughing I'd guess if underaged athletes could of have had..
a couple to help recover.. gatorade may not have been ever been created.. Wink

The only thing is I never feel like a beer after a ride. My problem is the beer the night before I cycle......thats the problem. As far as I'm concerned a few beers on Saturday night ruins Sunday morning. Its not really worth it.

I'm never really in a position to drink after a ride as i try to avoid beer in the day (just sends me to sleep).

Only ever drink on a ride during the London to Brighton which is not quite a proper ride and i need a drink to offset spending a day on the roads with all those....

Perfect example of the media making something of nothing.  "A" beer is not the best drink after a ride.  A skim chocolate milk with some sea salt is.  Now, five or six beers after a ride...that definitely is better than water.
