Looking forward to tomorrow.

My eldest learnt to ride her bike without stabilisers at a campsite in Doussard. The route goes within a few years of this notable cycling landmark.

SR "within a few years" ?
I'm at the other end of the French property ladder so I'm a bit anti-Annecy, sorry!

Do you mean "Meaning what?"
Or "that is to say"
My French isn't that good.
But I'm surprised that Annecy is richest town in France, don't know why I should be surprised as it's an amazing place and was chock-a-block full of tourists (me included, but it happened to be a good stopover for me inbetween stages in 2005), but found excellent restaurant serving moules and frites and they got me a table for 1 before several other groups of 2's and 3's - I was impressed and would go back there at the drop of a hat!

Moules at Annecy? It's a long way from the sea!
|
Hommedesbois

I think the statistic is based on property prices, like the dearest town in the UK is Guildford. France has 2 extremes. I sold land in Burgundy for less than 4€ per m˛ and the price of building land in Avignon is 2,600 per m˛. Annecy is even more expensive as is Lyon.

Swan mussels from the lake? By the time moules get here half have to be thrown away, then I cook them and throw the rest away.
Mouclade on Ile de Ré.....
Cheapest property 600,000€
Pissing down here!

I'm not fussy where the moules come from - I could live on them. My Mother says I'll turn into a mussel when I tell her about my meals on my travels!
Would love to go to Ile de Re as well.
Pissing down here in Holland too!

As for Annecy and pissing down: I have mixed recollections of the place. Spent a week there once with a girlfriend when I was very young. It rained constantly and we had nothing to say to each other. So we spent most of the time in the hotel room... Ah, youth!
Speaking of youth, how do you reckon Nibali will do in the ITT today? Normally he does a decent one if I remember correclty - should be interesting. I'm warming rapidly to the guy. I see he is a fan of De Niro. Go figure:
BTW, looks as if Liquigas have come up with a new leg-extension drug - now wouldn't that be something. Why don't I ever get spam-mail about that?
Sorry about this completely useless drivel. It's just I'm procastinating getting on with work...

Looks like Liquigas use the same photographer as the guy who snapped Wiggo looking like a stick insect.
Maybe there are a lot of photographers who previously specialised in making gardens look very long for Estate Agents who are no eking out a living photographing cyclists.
Agree about warming to Nibali. I like his style. Pellizoti as well (despite the Hamilton style hair!)
The true hero of this year's race, though, is Thor - Mountain Goat - Hushovd for his raid yesterday.

well right now he's our best ITT-ist (which doesn't say much as I guess Italy isn't quite the country of TTs...).
On a normal day I'd say he can catch Frank... it's the end of TdF so hardly a normal day... let's keep fingers crossed (and hope that next year Peli and Kreuziger will work for him...)

I too have mixed memories of Annecy. Certainly is a bit crowded at this time of the year.
Not surprised it pissing down. That is the forcast. Warm and wet. A pity, because the heli shots would be stunners.
Another lottery? Menchov can't wait!
Can't fiddle the start order this time, either, so if it rains on some and not others, tough cheese.
I bet Satan gets it dry.
Lance on the way up. Everybody else on the way down.
Marvellous to be able to recovery so quickly and so well, at his age, eh?
Complete opposite to his Italian 38YO counterpart.

And also complete opposite to Sastre and Evans. People on other forums keep saying we now see just how doped those two normally are. But surely its more likely that we're seeing just how doped the others are?!
I'm guessing Andy will do a pretty good TT today - he has a lot to fight for. With Frank, who knows . In any case, I'd certainly rather see Nibali than Frank on the podium.

Without wishing to reignite the whole debate about how the Olympics are viewed, I must say that what Wiggo has done these last three weeks has in my eyes put him on a totally different level which no further amount ot Olympic track medals could put him on. Until this season I looked on him as someone who seemed to get no visible satisfaction from road racing - in his book he gives one paragraph to describe the experience of riding his first Giro - but what he has done has been mightily impressive, whatever now happens, and a lot of credit must surely go to Vaughters for unlocking his potential. He still doesn't show visible passion, but you can see in his quiet way that he is aware that he is doing something special. I would love him to win the stage today.

I thought Vaughters was put in place in Sacremento 2008 when the Lead Out Man went a little too fast for their sprinter (Ciolek was it).
With that speed it didn't take much work to realise, who should be Leading who.
In the meantime Cav has thrown to many Toys out of the Pram for me. |
Don't follow you mr s, Vaughters and Wiggo are at at Garmin and you appear to be talking about Columbia.

Jaja not impressed with Canc. seems he lost a bit in the end.
11 second lead will never last, with the re-charge boys bringing up the rear.
I'm sure, if Berto catches and passes Andy Schleck in today's ITT, he will be accused by some around here, of pacing!

Best laugh yet, for the studio "idiot".......
