Oscar Pistorius Pulls an OJ?

Obviously breaking news, so details are vague at the moment, but it certainly could be the end for "Blade Runner".

This case seems to have turned into a soap opera - I guess we still don't know exactly why it happened, but it's very dramatic and sad at the same time... there seems to be a certain morbid fascination with this case (myself included)

I don't know about morbid fascination. It just keeps getting posted all over the internet. How do we not see the information? Wink

It is starting to be a bit embarrassing for everyone concerned.  Not so much a tragedy, although murders are tragic.  But you could not make it up, it just goes on.  I listen to the Today  Show on my internet radio and they report it as if it is big news.  Same with French news.  You don't even have to go to the internet.  The guy was a big hero.  Too bad about his companion, what could she possibly have done to deserve this?  Nothing deserves being blown away.

I keep thinking of gun laws and having the ability to reach out and grab a gun.  Not common in some countries.

As far as I can see, Pistorius doesn't have a leg to stand on.

I can't believe its taken five days to come to a decision re. bail.

Surely the central issue is whether he's deemed a flight risk. If so, keep him in nick, if not strap a tag on 'im and tell him to report to the nearest station every morning.

These are bad jokes.  I think testosterone in males and roid rage, altered mood, perception and other dangers are well-documented.  Is it an "OJ", or is it bad judgement?  In either case, the time has come to recognize that most, if not all professional athletes in most sports, are on drugs.
