Trying to work out where that is taken from? Somewhere above Luddenden foot?
I was all set to go riding but my mate couldn't make it which sort of took the wind out of my sails - or to be more accurate, gave my inner sloth sufficient excuse to take over. I did eventually get on the trainer for 3/4 of an hour after watching Ghent-Ghent.

That's a local phenomenon. A lot of the little roads follow the old pack-horse routes which joined places as the crow flies - none of this poncy european winding up hills round here. Winding up hills is for girls.

Pretty much spot on Mile 11 on here looking down the valley to Mytholmroyd and Luddenfoot.
Down here on the Downs if you ever ride up Ditchling the short stretches of flattened road is where the horses would rest as they climbed...nowadays just fat blokes on carbon steeds (although I try not to rest too long )
