I have ridden around Woodstock VT and in Killington. They used to have (don't know if it is still held) a 3 day stage race in Killington.

Sounds like a terrific ride.
kellyrocheearly

One of the kids on my trip lived in Rochester, VT and said that Lincoln is ridiculously steep- like 23% in some stretches. Have fun! Laughing

Unfortunately the last time I get results for Killington is in 2000 so I doubt it. It was a major race on the pro calendar here in North America for both men and women..........

I think that is 4 days....yeah it is. And Stage 3 is a summit finish at the top of App Gap.

This is probably my ride on Saturday: http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/pa/greencastle/651780831

Thats gorgeous country FP. I used to live in DC and went out that way on occasion. You should do the Bucks County covered bridges ride...also very nice. Gorgeous routes.

Foliage, like bb said. How's the calf, track star? Red, orange or green line? I'd expect green line being Irish.

Nah it was the Red line.
Calf is coming along nicely, i can walk around normally again but its still a little tight so i'm being careful. Seeing the physio tomorrow afternoon so will find out when i can get back on the bike as my body is hating this no exercise feeling. Maybe i could go swimming for some aerobic work?

Have you discovered the foam roller?

The stick?

The trigger wheel?

You know I treat strained calves (among other things) for a living, right?

These items work magic on a strained calf. Don't leave home without them.
kellyrocheearly

was at physiotherapy yesterday and got the all clear to start riding again. The knot is gone and did a 20min test on the exercise bike they have increasing the resistance right to the maximim and went all as hard a si could and calf felt fine although i was knackered!! Lose a lot of fitness in 2 weeks
So i'll be starting back with a few gentle rides this weekend and keep doing my stretching and strengthening exercises and then push on from there, might make Vermont for mid September App Gap ride yet
MerlinGuy

Great place to ride KRE if you like hills. They say that if you flattened Vermont out it would be the size of Texas.

I actually lived in New Hampshire for a year and worked in Woodstock, VT. Well until the Dot Com crash.

You get a good set of snow tires and dress in layers. Actually the snow removal in the Upper Valley is first rate. Much better than what Colorado has. The winters are long but the people there are great.
