My new "Ride"

Here are a few snap shots of my new bike. I got a great deal from my local bike shop. They are closing out these 2007 models to make room for the new Madone's that are coming in. I got this one at about 60% of retail price

Slapshot

Sweet!!!

Very nice and a great bargin as well!! How's she ride?
berck

She rides really nice. My previous bike is a '02 5200. I put 16000 miles (25744 km) on that thing. Its a good bike and I'll keep it for weather related biking. It was feeling its age and each time I rode it, I would hear small creaks and such. I took this new one out yesterday and it was completely quiet, and fast. I did a route (25 mi / 40 km) and I finished two minutes faster than last thursday, on the same route, with my 5200.

I'm excited to be using this for my up coming ride.

Good man. That's a lot of miles on the old bike!

When's the big ride???
berck

The 14th. Just a few days away.

time you did a bit of work on the garden.. first.. Very Happy
berck

No time, it'll have to wait until after the 14th! Smile

your new ride is kinda soft, that rear stay is far away from the downtube, look at the distance from the front of rear tire to the down tube, lot of room.

but enjoy the ride, if this is your first racer, you chose well..

have fun...

The new Madones look just like the new Specialized that Boonen hates. I think the new Treks are amazing. Enjoy that ride.

I just bought two Neuvation C50 carbon wheels and am having two Conti tubulars taped on as we speak. Wheels: $800 for the pair. Tires: $120 for the pair.

Total HACK, and enjoying the piss out of it, TT. I hold my lines well--never caused a crash. I've only been riding for two years, and racing for one, so what do you expect? MIRACLES? I move up from Cat 5 to Cat 4 at the end of this year. I'm 46, so how good could I get, for Christ's sake? I'll need lots of PEDs to keep up with the likes of you. I did finish well in a criterium last Sunday against boys 10-20 years younger. Came in second for a Prem (DINNER FOR TWO), lost by half a wheel. Top ten in a bunch sprint finish. I'm too heavy to climb well, but I'm a decent crit racer so far...

The point was that I'm getting carbon wheels for HALF the price of Zipps, and tires at HALF price. I was talking about a deal.

I could kick your ass in tennis, TT, that I know. Now go eat ice cream, my friend.

not tennis, iam not shit.. i rallied with peter polanski..that canadian hot shot..

Nice. I ride an '04 5200 bult up with Dura Ace and better wheels, headset and longer stem to fit me. I love it. I'm at about 10,000 miles on it but no creaks (unless I don't oil my chain).

Looks sweet, berck, enjoy!

Laughing

So you "rallied" with him. Does that mean you're any good? We'll hit one day, TT. I'm sure you can kick my ass on a bike, but on the courts, we will see...

I had upgraded the wheels and fork on the 5200. I have since moved my mavics to the 5.2 and put the madone wheels on the 5200. Just need to put a new seat on the Madone, and I'll be really happy.

I thought I put lots of miles on, you're out doing me quite a bit. Keep it up!
