MAILLOT JAUNE

Ooooooh don't - this is torture for me as I can't afford to go this year for the first time in 9 years!!!!!!!!!!!
Biosphere

I knew you had been a few times, but hadn't realised it was so regular. Ten in a row would have been a nice target.

Just on way home from airport after a week in West Ireland. Catching up with things. I see Froome is out. Here is the official start list if the micro link works. If not all post it properly from computer later.

Slapshot 3

Would love to see Dan Martin take this to add to La Doyenne!!

Looks like they are in for another wet race as well.
Pretty chilly on the climbs, too.

Seems that RAIS 2 go on air at 13:55 local time so live pictures from about 14:00? Seems a bit tardy for a local monument, but I guess streams shortly after that? German ES with pictures from 15:30, so maybe the international ES will have something live?

Sagan is out (which happened a while ago) for no clear reason yet according to the CN ticker.

Sagan dropped on the first climb (Valico di Valcava, after about 80 km) and dismounted, the first DNF.
Kwiatkowski was a DNS.
Andy Schleck next. No surprise there.

French es have had the Franco Belge on live since late morning (i've been watching) and have the Tour de Vendee this afternoon.

No English language coverage, but Lombardy should have feeds from Sporza or whatever in about half an hour.
HuwB

Live now. Nibali crashed, hurt, not getting back on it seems.
Tiralongo too.

A handful left at the top of the Muro.
Costa, Contador, Gilbert, Betancur and all of Sky out the back.

Bless you Ventoux

So I guess J Rod attacks on the last hill and wins it.

No doubt Voeckler will be caught, but I do love it when one guy holds off four or five riding at the front of the bunch.  How can that be?  Always a little surprising.

I am a genius.   Laughing

Darwin and Thibaut, two of my favourite not yet there riders are still around.
Bartali

Excellent!  I'm pleased for the lad.
Bartali

BTW - Thanks for the feed Ventoux.
HuwB

Well, that more or less ended up following the script.
A pity for Dan Martin, right at the end bend.
Bartali

Shame Nibali fell off Sad

Thoroughly deserved win for Rodriguez, especially after last weeks disappointment.  No. 1 three years in a row?

Got an ESUK feed for the last 10k or so but the signs aren't promising for UK coverage if the last couple of weeks are anything to go by.  No UK coverage of a monument is a bit of a game changer, so I might have to go with a dish for next year.

Slovak news stations were reporting that after a minor crash he chose to abandon than try to push it on the wet roads to get back on.

I think Voeckler would've got that, were it not for the mysterious happenings in the tunnel when his lead was cut from 2.5mins down to under 30s.
Fontfroide

BF,
Are you serious?  Did I miss something?
Boogerd_Fan

sure - when did he fall to create the blood on his chin?
