Hi mr Boonen. Get a racing licence then get good enough to be approached by a team - I would have thought?

Unless you want to be a race helper. Usually there are calls for volunteers to help with traffic furniture etc.
You cant race.

so you can make good money while moving up to the top level as an amateur.. start winning at that level..
you'll find semi-pro teams ds's will start approaching you to join their developmental squads.. then good luck

However true it may be...
Live at altitude and have a naturally high Hct. And be able to ride like a bastard.
