god bless the BBC

I should have known better, but I just hit the link to "live coverage of the Tour de Yorkshire" and got this pile of shite.....

http://www.bbc.com/news/live/uk-england-32545828

go on, take a look..... it's no more than a list of pretty places that the race will pass, and oh, breaking news, they've passed it and there were people there watching! I was foolishly thinking it might have race updates......   Embarassed

I was quite surprised to come across live coverage of my beloved Yorkshire here.  Totally shocked.  It is where I had been watching the Tour of Romandie.  NO idea what language it was in, although I suspect Turkish.

I should add that I was very pleasantly surprised at the number of people out on the road, on the climbs at crossroads etc.

There is more coverage of Cameron watching the race and a nice journalistic BJ from the BBC than there is of the race.

That really is bad. They might as well not bothered.

The coverage is: there is a break, there are these places, oh look there is David Cameron, everyone loves Cameron, here is another town, Sky won, some guy not in the break won the stage (not that you would know this from the coverage).

On my channel there was just the race.  Commentary in Turkish.

meh. beeb's not got the telly rights for aso events so not the place to look. plus witchell's got to scoop a sprogname. and it's a bank holibobs so anybody left who's useful has taken the weekend off.

itv4's coverage has been good if you remember to pause-timeshift 15 minutes for the adverts at the beginning. they're allowed to have millions of sodding adverts if they want, not being a subscription channel. live dolphin's a first.

beeb is still more likely to have sports news reports if cav wins bananas in turkey than if valverde wins lbl, but they had live radio of paris-weetabix which may have been the first classic they've ever done even if it was hung on wiggones.

fr3's terryadam mistaking kristoff for paolini and putting a video inset of a sylvchav interview as the bunch enters arenberg is far less forgivable. they should know better.

clickybigger

localbeeb sent a bloke to the reservoir and listed dates to hang around on street corners this year looking at blokes in lycra.

don't bother

The weather is as far as I get with BBC TV.
Perhaps from your comments they thought they were potential voters or maybe just waiting to see the baby.
Blah Blah Crap.
I do listen to their Radio at times.

Mind you, Sky News spent all day looking at a Red Brick Building.

A very good article, followed by a pretty decent interview with Cav.  Got this from another forum
