It all seems fine to me?

I think Kathy was trying to drum up business. There were very few picks at that time yesterday.

And I didn't see any of it.

Whoops, It's that Brylcream Boy again. He's back.
Nolte

Good finish yesterday, thought kittel went too early but Caleb Ewan overshot corner and kittel had enough. Bonifazio got a good third place.  He looks a very good sprinter, hope lampre aren't over racing him.
Nolte

lampre seems indecisive on who they should be leading out
yesterday, they had bonifazio leading out modolo and modolo bearly got by him and today they had ferrari leading out bonifazio and bonifazio couldn't get by ferrari

good win by pelucchi

I've just spotted this - I think there must be a glitch somewhere, because as far as I'm aware, I didn't post this!
mazda

But yours is the first post ?  Confused
mazda

Let's try and create some interest Smile

Kamil Zieliński (Poland)
Gatis Smukulis (Katusha)
Maciej Bodnar (Tinkoff-Saxo)

hold a 7 minute lead 130km into the stgae (it is 220 km long).

2 x Cat 1 climbs to come and then a 20km flat to the finishing line consisting of 3 laps of somewhere or other. Sounds like a late finish to me.
mazda

There are a few other races on  - Tour of Denmark, Vuelta a Burgos, Tour of Utah (modestly calling itself America's toughest stage race).
Easy to see why WT teams need large squads because there will still be a fair few not participating in those races following the TdF.

Movistar even seem to have a team (of nobody I have heard of) at the Tour of Columbia.
Stage 9 seems to be a 157km ITT  Shocked
Assume they mean stage 8.
mazda

Gap at 6'30" with 60 km to go.
Starting to look doable if they can climb well enough.
mazda

4' 30" with 44km to go.
Starting the last climb.
mazda

2 minutes with 15km to go.
mazda

It's raining, just enough.
mazda

1' 10" with one lap to go (7.5 km).
Going to be close unless Orica get more help.
mazda

50" and half a lap to go.
Looks like they will stay away.
Zielinski needs 15 seconds or so to take the lead.
He'll get a few from time bonuses.
mazda

Bodnar then Zielinski.
Ewan 4th.
That should have worn them all out for tomorrows three lumpy laps around Zakopane.
gerry12ie

Nice the way that worked out for the break - and its Polish representatives.  The climbs were just stiff enough to nullify most of the sprinters teams, except for OGE who couldn't bring it back on their own, which was good news for the break.

Seriously, is that Wiggle advert an Aphex Twin video in disguise? Wink

Much better than having to mute the err,umm maggy and chuckles. pale
They drain any interest in the race.
mazda

Four riders have a small lead today.
Longest stage of the race with 8 climbs in the last 100 and odd km or so.

Edward Beltran (Tinkoff-Saxo)
Grega Bole (CCC Sprandi)
Vegard Breen and Boris Vallée (Lotto-Soudal)

All the 'B's.
Like Boggis, Bunce and Bean.

They have 5 more climbs and 80km to go.
So I think we can expect to see a shake up at some point.
mazda

All coming together.
First Bole and Beltran try to delay the inevitable, and then Beltran goes solo.
But lead is down to 40" over the Sky led peloton.
mazda

Astana driving things and slimming the peloton down a little.
mazda

25km and the penultimate climb to Zab.
Still a lot of contenders hanging around.
mazda

Henao attacks, doesn't get away.
mazda

Aru leading.
Setting up Lutsenko ? (who I did consider FPing this morning)
mazda

Lutsenko gone.

Formolo attacks.
Aru gets across to him.
mazda

10 to 15 riders or so.
Henao, Rebellin (!) and Hermans among them.
mazda

Nieve (remember him ?) attacks.
mazda

Moser, Reichenback and Riblon also in the mix.
That must be about your 10.
mazda

It's that boring flat bit before the final ramp where riders start to mess about.
Riders coming back on.
De Clerq attacks.
mazda

Bart de Clerq wins.
mazda

Ulissi then Reichenbach.
Come on Hermans !
mazda

p.s. Root just reached his century.
mazda

Very Happy
Get in.

I honestly think England should declare and take a few overs at them this evening.  They are down, so why not put them out?

Finally watched a bit. Don't see what all the complaining is about Wink

Was willing De Clercq on. Thought he was going to be caught when the chasers were within camera shot with more than a km to go. He held on well Smile
mazda

The big day for the climbers today.

Poljański, Kwiatkowski, Gołaś, Brambilla, Rosa, Boswell, Niemiec, Atapuma, Teuns, Santaromita, Worganow, Bennett, Tankink, Bonnafond, Domont, Jeannesson, Elissonde, Paterski, Michajłow, Marczyński

Kwiatkowski has tired himself out trying to get away.
mazda

Atapuma and Teuns also lost contact.
mazda

You will have noticed none of the current GC men are in that list.
No news (for me) on where the peloton is.
Polish coverage understandably sticking with the Poles in the break.
mazda

Tankink has gained a minute lead up and over the Tooth.
mazda

Peleoton at 2'15" led by De Clercq's teammates.
mazda

Poiljanksi has caught him and Rosa and Golas are chasing.
mazda

Poljanksi and Rosa now ahead.
mazda

Less than 30km and to all intents are all together
Nolte

That is a nice feature with a virtual classification they have for time trials
gerry12ie

Yes, good stage and the right result for the rider that has come closest the last couple of years too. A good race
