One thing that is a bit annoying... is that when you quote a post...it includes all the other quoted posts that it derived from. Makes it a tad confusing... but not as confusing as that triathlon forum was.

Aside from being part of the cyclingforums diaspora, about a week ago I was banned from RBR. I was also banned from DPF. Right now I am 1 for 3 when it comes to surviving cycling related forums. Hopefully I can improve my track record here.

cyclingforums.com. We haven't been booted, but the admin has gone missing, and the site is running on auto-pilot. Parts of the software are broken, and no new members have been able to post since shortly after the first of the year. End result is that the forum has withered away.
We have been looking for alternative that is not over-moderated and has a nice mix of nationalities.

You can get away with almost anything on this forum so long as you don't suggest that great performances can be achieved without the use of drugs.
If you even hint at this, there'll be a posse on your doorstep in the middle of the night to inject EPO and HGH where the sun doesn't shine.
Don't even think about what might happen to you if you make a substantiated allegation. Unsubstantiated claims, speculation, rumour and innuendo are the only subjects of true believers in these parts.

Why would anyone use such a silly word? What does it add to anything at all, especially since no one other than three Americans might know what it means. Other than someone who fucks a weasel, which is quite silly really. I mean, how does it relate to a nurd or a "con" (French) or wurfle or a pillock. If I said they are a bunch of pillocks, what does this add to your understanding? This is, after all, a cycling forum, not a linguistic study session. I think a little respect is in order especially from people who just joined.

Just make sure you keep your room tidy and wash up after yourself. The wine in the fridge is Huw's and the olives belong to Kathy - I wouldn't go in the chiller compartment if I were you. Smoking is in the designated area on the veranda under the Let Levi Cry poster. The boonen is under the stairs for dry spills and for wet spills, the schlek is in the pantry.
Please enjoy your stay.

I don't even know how it got started...something came up just by the by about ferns...and then when an argument got going, sometimes someone would just throw that fern pic in there to lighten it up...The Fern of Peace...
An entire thread once existed involving ferns...it has a life of its own.
So...it just makes us feel at home...and anytime we can throw it into a conversation we do. It's goofy.

It started one day on CF when a poster there, Thunder, was complaining about a thread he posted being hijacked off topic. He threw out an in jest threat, and I threatened him, in jest "I'll come over there and hang a fucking fern in the thread if you aren't careful." Then I went and found a hanging fern and hung it in his thread. Then it developed a life of its own.
A couple of weeks later, Jeff Vader posted on slowtwitch that he was thinking about putting some ferns in his work-out space. That thread developed into something beyond explanation. There were some posts regarding secret NSA emails, and a gay nazi. It was the wild west for a couple of days.

Not directly... but I can send a PM. Lim was open to a move last time we brought it up... which was reassuring considering his mod status. Helmut only checks in very spasmodically now due to his new job. I'll send them a PM. But I feel like I've written about 100 posts over the last few days explaining the move... it's hard to muster up the energy to do it all again. Maybe just a heads-up PM and refer to a "Moving On" thread.

He might have been referring to Australia... and it's still current "penal colony" status in the UK... |
I think "back atcha" is a US coloquialism. Australian slang would have something to do with a waloby or perhaps Cadel Evans.. |
Yeah your right... I think I took the wrong meaning because I still have penal insecurities...

I lived in Nashville for a couple of years. It really irritated me when managers would say it in meetings but I took it away with me when I left. Go figure. It does come in handy at times. And no, I cannot sing.

If I make my opinion public, I'm sure he'll do the exact opposite to prove me wrong . . . BUT . . .
The way I have it figured, j won't even bother himself unless or until CF is no more . . . then, I would think he might head on over one day when he's bored and looking for laughs or sparring in jest . . . just a guess though.

Come now, Mr Malkmus, we're having international conflicts sorted out by tea and cake. This is progress. If only they'd stuffed Adolf full of Linzertorte he might have been too content to get angry about the other stuff in his head.
(Actually, on second thoughts, they tried that with Goering and it didn't work.)
