Cycling in UK

Cycling as a popular sport to the American public pretty much consists of the Tour De France (long as an American is winning) and the Uni Baller… cycling a popular sport in the UK as well.

In terms of participants I think it is one of the biggest 'sports' we have, but racing doesn't have much traction with the general public.

That said, those who follow professional cycling are usually pretty up to speed with all the classics and grand tours etc.

I think the increasing popularity of cycling as a televised sport has no doubt contributed to some impressive figures (e.g. market research company BRMB showed that this decade has seen a 40 percent rise in the number of adults jumping into the saddle).
