Conspiracy Line now open

Putting on my Marauder foil-Hat and Cape Cape...

Given how Vino-esque Dertie's TTing is - what odds that LA/JB are setting him up for a fall by super-charging him?

Look at it this way - Dertie won't be joining the new LA/JB team. He is the best rider around, and hence an obvious stumbling block to a Disney-themed number 8. So what better way than to get Dertie to have a two year 'sabbatical' while the Uniballer extends his retirement tour.
mayofan

JB deceitfulness knows no bounds. But seeing as andy schleck would win it if that happened i doubt it somehow.
HuwB

Bruyneel now has an excuse to pop a set of real values onto Dertie's passport, since he's shacking up with Lance.

Are we talking about getting him out of the way for an LA win next year? If Contador gets popped it'll be next spring after he's left Bruyneel and you knows it.
Bartali

Not a chance.  A contador win is better than no win at all!

2010 - Lets be realistic, we have seen a solid performance from LA - look at the classy riders he's beat - but he has NEVER looked like winning this year and he won't next year either.

Tailor made parcours, unexpected 40s advantage, best TTT team out there, no Basso etc ....it couldn't have been better ...
MAILLOT JAUNE

If Contador left Astana, what team would he sign for????

Oh yes, they've shacked up alright:

I couldn't be bothered to post it during the TT, but the Flemish commentators wouldn't shut up about Radio Chack all the way through the commentary. But at least one of the commentators decided not to try and pronounce Brice Feilleu's name - every time he mentioned his name he pronounced it Br-eye-ce, only to be constantly corrected by the other guy saying Breece!

But Lance seems to have been getting very pally with Andy during this Tour.  Keep away, Andy!

They've already signed the team.
Here is the proof. See their first squad meet.

Caisse has also been mentioned I think.

With Valverde now definitely not  GT rider, it would certainly give Caisse extra punch. Nice Balance to the team.

Radio Shack is a fantastic company.  Has saved me a lot of money over the years.
nzovu

If I were Contador (yeah, right!), I'd go with the new Renault/Formula 1 whatever team. He can have the team built up around him, and the risk of resentment from an existing captain wouldn't be there.

Plus, its a Spanish outfit, so none of all this antidoping nonsense  Smile
CapeRoadie

Andy Schleck... Mr. 65% ITTer.  Ridiculous performance today!
headwind

i woulnt say the premise of this thread is way off base. clearly lance is done for, and AC could win 8 tours

now would be a good time to get him out of the way to protect lances history

Ooooh, I forgot about Alonso talking about building a cycling team when I asked the question about who would Contador sign for.

Mind you, I got the impression that Cervelo build their team round Sastre.....

Does this mean they are like Fnac/Forum in France where prices are so outrageous the money stays in your pocket?
MAILLOT JAUNE

Interesting, as a european I'm aware of RadioShack but maybe they are not that well know in europe so that explains why they are getting into sponsoring cycling.
kathy

I thought Radioshack were associated with Tandy in the UK.  I seem to remember going into a Tandy shop and seeing Radioshack products.  This was more than 12 years ago, of course.

Hommedesbois, I agree about Fnac - very expensive.  And they have filtered into Spain as well now - one has just opened in Murcia city.
Mrs John Murphy

Look at it this way JB/LA/LL have already set up the narrative for the positive dope test. In the media they have been pushing the whole Dertie the lone wolf rider doing his own thing, going against team orders. So should he fail a test the onus won't fall on JB because the rider was obviously a loose cannon - as demonstrated by his riding through out the race.

My betting is should Dertie fail a test then Liestrong will be out there demanding 4 or lifetime bans...

As for Radioshit - we'll have to see who they sign. I would imagine Hincrapie, Popobitch, Dwarf... for services rendered Roid. Maybe Evans since with a little bit of Ferrari magic he'll be able to improve his TT enough to match his wheelsucking ways. Basically no one who might steal the limelight from Sir Liealot.
nzovu

A more moderate version of the theory might be that Beavis and Butthead know that Bertie is close to getting exposed - but not by them - and are therefore trying to distance themselves rapidly...
Jackov

yes, kathy I remember long a go radio shack ads on tv ended with something like "A tandy corporation"

No, it means I don't have to replace an entire electronic device; I can actually just replace a PART for a fraction of the cost.

Cape started it, I'm just investigating whether a USA electronics company can help me with a problem I have with some American equipment before considering the relevance of said technology giant to European professional cycling.

Yeah, "The Shack" as they will inevitably become. An apt place for the "great depression" to end up in, don't you think?

The Shack, The Hut. What next? The Shed, maybe? Or perhaps The Can?
CapeRoadie

Bartali wrote:

Pretty much.  A lot of their own electronics line is shite, but their real strength has always been in the "nuts & bolts" electrical parts supplies.  My Dad worked for Radio Shack when it was a small, single store in Boston (he was an electrician before going into education).  It has a real niche market.
Mrs John Murphy

Cape - if you want to spam a thread then go and find another one. This is for conspiracies only.
CapeRoadie

Mrs John Murphy wrote:

I was answering Bartali's question.  Mind your own business, rat.
Mrs John Murphy

It was a polite request not to spam the conspiracy thread. I know that spamming a thread into oblivion is your preferred tactic when there it is a thread you don't like, but for once just give it a rest.

There is a Radioshack thread over on the cycling board why not go and discuss it there?

Back to Conspiracies:

Monday - JB resigns as DS of Astana
Tuesday - Vino announces return at press conference
Wednesday - Dertie/Kloden fail tests
Thursday - Astana stripped of Pro-tour license by UCI under three strikes rule - Vino blackballed as no team will sign him.
Friday - JB/LA and McQuaid seen giggling in a hot tub together.
CapeRoadie

Actually, I like this thread.  Lighten up, MJM.  Any discussion of a conspiracy at the Tour HAS to include a discussion of how race radio won't be banned due to Radioshack's sponsorship and possible supplier of radios to the Tour.  Just a (conspiracy) theory.

And exactly how was giving me an order construed as "polite"?
Mrs John Murphy

You are the last person on earth who should be telling anyone to lighten up. It was a polite request. I could have told you to fuck off and stop spumming up threads you don't like. Politeness, like your sex life, is all about relatives.

Given your bead-on about Andy Schleck I am shocked you haven't got a conspiracy as to his non-busting.

I assume that because AS and Dertie are so doped you consider Armstrong to be the rightful winner of this race?
CapeRoadie

Lighten up.  You really are a sad little muppet; you're spamming your own thread.  And you were not being polite in any sense of the word.  I'd never seen A Schleck ITT so well.  No theory; he's doped to the hilt.  The rightful winner is probably Wiggins.
Mrs John Murphy

Oh dear. Are you about to have another mental breakdown? I don't know why you bother - you always end up coming off worse.

I thought you said Wiggins was dirty the other day. Make up your mind.

Andy Schleck doped? No shit. Next you'll be announcing that the Pope is Catholic and you've noticed that bears shit in the woods.

Come on, pop on that foil helmet and give us some decent conspiracies and nonsense.

Is signing Brice F part of Liestrong's plan to really fuck up the French? Afterall, what would be more annoying for the French than an American trained French TDF winner.

Major existential crisis for all French nationalists and people mooning at Lancey-poos.

Or cunning stunt to try to make himself more popular in France?
CapeRoadie

MJM you have no class.  Polite is a word you do not understand.  Oh well.  We already knew that.  Why are you spamming your own thread?

If Feuillu rides for RadioShack and takes Roman along, then the French may finally get their win.
Mrs John Murphy

The level of politeness you get is the level you deserve.

Now you can carry on down this road if you want - but you know full well that you'll end up getting upset if you carry on like this. Seriously, drop out while you can and you are still mentally in one piece. See, if I had no class, I wouldn't worry about your mental state and its likely disintegration now would I?

Hardly spamming, just looking for more conspiracies and plots. So is signing the Brothers Feillu (only one 'u') part of Armstrong plot to fuck up the French? Is he going to give them their winner or is he going to give them the Heras/Popobitch treatment and fuck up their careers? Seems to me to be more of a business move than a cycling move.
CapeRoadie

No, no.  You claimed to be "polite", and now you're being called on it and trying to change it around to fit your needs.  Let's be clear:  you were not polite.  All I'm sayin'.

Well, I'm suspicious about a deal with the French by Armstrong.  He wanted to buy the Tour.  Couldn't do that, so he decided to cut some other deal with ASO to ride.  Now this.  There's definitely something there.

And look:  no doping positives this year.  Incroyable!
Mrs John Murphy

I was polite. I didn't call you a cunt and tell you to fuck off. That would have been impolite. If I wasn't impolite then I must have been polite. QED.

As for no positives - the ASO have learnt - don't announce positives during the race - all the press are there and it is defacto the big news story. Do it next week - all the 3 week journos will have gone home and no scenes of a rider being carted off in handcuffs to be buttfucked in the prison showers beamed around the world.

I am pretty sure they knew about Di Luca long before the announcement, but releasing it in the middle of a race he's not involved in - meant no fuss no bother. The 'DDL gets busted thread' has about 19 responses - compare to the Ricco gets busted thread.

How about this for a conspiracy?

Armstrong pulled the plug on Discovery despite getting 1st and 3rd on the podium (sound familiar) with a lame excuse about sponsorship (strangely enough he seems to have done it fine without having defending champ on roster in the middle of massive recession) to try to disrupt Contadors's chances of 8 Tours in a row?
Beasley

Weren't Discovery on the way out before the Tour?

Not a bad shout.

I think Armstrong and Bruyneel should be quietly applauded for getting a sponsor on board; they've done well to find one of the few organisation that both have the budget and the motive to speculate. Radio Shack's line in inferior goods should fly off the shelves in a recession.

I still think though that disbanding a team that had just won the Tour was odd to say the least.

And just imagine the benefits from having Armstrong man the complaints hotline during the off-season. Irate customers would soon be put straight as to where the blame for sub-standard produce performance lay. Smile
Mrs John Murphy

RE - Roid to the Cack

If Roid signs for Cack then it is purely a political move by Liestrong and because it will cause trouble.

ie: TDF bans Astana because of Vino's past doping. Liestrong includes Roid in his TDF squad. If you ban Vino you have to ban Roid (as they have done with Basso this year). If you let Roid ride then you have to let Vino ride - causing of course lots of internal tension within Astana and really fucking up Dertie's attempt to win 8 TDFs.
Mrs John Murphy
