Canon camera's....for Biosphere

Fancy this one mate???

Nice price... Rolling Eyes  Bart might be able to afford it Wink

Nice Lens!!

AFAIK, the price hasn't been announced yet (though was expected around August/September time). Park Cameras did, I think, at one time have it listed at 11,500 but that's been replaced by 'no price yet available'.

So although I think 100k euros may be a tad OTT, I think you're right that only Bart's likely to be ably to afford one!  Laughing

As for me, it's another one to add to the "if ever I win the lottery" wish-list.  Rolling Eyes

Third attempt at replying. Battery on phone foiled the first, and nearby lightning strike killed the internet on second attempt. I was assuming that decimal place was in wrong position but seems that's optimistic. It's a nice lens but I don't really covet it. It's for stalking wild life and celebrities, but I guess sports photographers would be happy with it too.

Rumours of big new camera in November too, but unknown if it's a 1 or a 5 from what I read.

Rumour has it on the world trials scene is it's a new EOS 1, no spec rumoured.

Nice lens but that price is extreme like TNG I'd have said around 10K, no way that'll sell at any more.

Hope it's the 1 and not the 5....hate to think of being -1 generation so soon (but plenty of rumours about the 5DIII, so what do I know?).

That would be a 3 year life cycle though which is pretty consistent with the first to second generation. Waiting game I guess.

10k seems on a par with this list (which are current actual prices):

EOS 1 MK V......

How does this Spec grab you...

18-20mp
Full Frame
ISO 51,200
Dual Digic V
Crazy frame rates of 12-14fps
61 AF points
New Battery
150g-200g heavier that current EOS-1s

Further rumours of a new Nikon ( Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad ) 36mp

Call me crazy, but it doesn't really. Yes it's all nice to have - the ISO especially - but would I really benefit? As in I don't have the skill to extract the performance. Go full frame and I need some new lenses too.

Gut reaction with no thinking behind it is I'm surprised at the Nikon pixel count. Thought they always took a more conservative line instead of going bonkers at the expense of image quality. 36MP is crop density Shocked

You're crazy...... Wink

Nah...it's way beyond anything I'd find useful in practical terms, what intrigues me is the technology involved.

Example: I have 18mp now, if I'm shooting RAW on high speed and a high frame rate, after no more than 6 or 7 shot it stalls the camera because it can't write to cards fast enough and the buffers in the CPU are limited. How the hell are they going to handle 18mp + at 12 -14 FPS???

Sounds nice but it's a bit mental.

My getting long in the tooth 7D has a much better buffer than that, so with 2ish years progression I can believe. We got chipsets in the lab that will move 18Gb/s easily, so the tech is there if desired. It's the mechanical aspects that impress me - probably mistakenly Smile

What better excuse to go get that set of L glass?

With you on most of what you say, my even longer in the tooth 5DII is still more camera than my skill level warrants....about the only thing I'd like is a bit better fps rate, though as I hardly ever use the 4fps that I can get today I think I'm just being greedy again.

36mp? Bigger and faster memory cards, USB3 card reader, USB3 or eSata external drives, more RAM, faster CPU... Rolling Eyes Thank God I'm a Canon man!

Nice set of features, but never in a million years would I get a business case past my CFO.....used up all my credit last year on my L lenses!  Rolling Eyes

Nice!  Laughing

I'd be interested in knowing how you get on with that push/pull zoom system....I haven't used mine nearly enough to get used to it yet.

Previous long zoom was a push/pull so don't find it too much different, it's nice, very sharp.
