Canadian classics 11th and 13th September

I have just realised that we usually do FPs on these races, so I have posted an FP thread here.

It seems to be a day for disrupted coverage! 37km to go.

I caught the 1km they were able to show.
Rotten conditions.
So a much reduced bunch contesting the minor paces behind Wellens and Adam Yates.

Must admit I was a bit sad about all that.  Seems like there should be some alternative in the 21st century.  Not like there were huge mountains or anything.  It was the middle of a city.

But I have a special relationship with the Yates boys, and always thought Wellens was a good rider, so happy with the results.  I hope we find out how it all happened though.

I presume that despite what the ES commentators were saying, it was a problem with helicopters rather than satellites. FF,  rain and radio waves are never going to get along - whatever the century Wink But yes, I guess better (less limited) technology will come along in course.

Costa looks to be strong at the moment. I nearly went for him instead of GVA, but he's had such a quiet season I thought better of it  Embarassed

So why is it that a speeding motorcycle in a huge city cannot send a digital message to some rooftop tower network which can send it via an fibre optic cable or something, to a studio in the same city which can then broadcast it to TV stations, most of which don't all go off the air when there are clouds and rain.

I kind of get it in big mountains with huge valleys in the middle of nowhere.

They often, I assumed jokingly, refer to water getting in/at the cables.

Do the program broadcasters still send the program via radio waves ?
Surely not.
