Good review and despite not being a racer or being old enough to be completely familiar with all of the names of the time I really enjoyed it and I agree with the books ability to keep you turning the page hoping for him to get his big break or big start in a classic.
Its good to read a cycling book that doesn't glamourise the idea of racing everyday in Europe and it go me through some time laid up before Christmas, I'd recommend it. Those Belgian Kermasses sounded like an experience!!

My wife bought me this book for Christmas, havent got round to reading it yet but looking forward to it.
