from As.com today..

Unipublic have announced that the leader's jersey in the Vuelta will be red instead of gold from 2009 in order to distinguish it from the yellow jersey at the Tour.

ASO at work already??

In Paris-Nice, ASO changed the leaders jersey from white to yellow... so a different tactic here...

Ummm ... but it is already different to the yellow jersey ... its GOLD!

Now if the GC leader is in red, then what does the KoM wear?  I always wanted one of those red KoM jerseys.

Apparently this is said not to be ASO's idea but Unipublic, as the colour red is associated with a lot of top sports people in Spain.  The leader's jersey in the Vuelta has been various different colours in the race's history.  There's no mention of what will happen to the KOM jersey.

The guy (can't remember his name..) from Unipublic said that the Vuelta was going to be "THE Tour!!!!!!!" this year, which is a bit odd considering ASO have muscled in...

Would that be BLOOD RED, then? Wink
I see all 170 have been tested and their passports have all been stamped.
I read the laughable comment from the boss, that the Vuelta would be this year's Tour.
Maybe, he meant the Astana Tour of Spanish beaches?
I think they'll take a leisurely two of the three podium spots.

Ohhhh - I really like the current gold jersey.

For my money, it's the sexiest jersey in the GT's.
